hmmm... combo videos on brawl are really lame now a days compared to melee. I don't even know if you can call them combos when none of them are even continuous. Wish the game speed stayed the same for the wii as it did in the Lamecube.
started using Olimar recently in addition to falco and metknight. Great combo's but im worried that most of his combos work against lowered tiered characters. Saw u use it on Diddy, snake and falco briefly, but besides that... Good vid though anyways. Its awesome u were raping ur friend at brawl lol

@endchrist Once a pikmin grabs an enemy, it functions like a normal grab. If you're talking about a Dthrow chaingrab, then yes, that's executed by grabbing the opponent, doing a down throw, and immediately pressing the grab button again.
This is a great and very informitive vid for all thoes who are looking to main as Olimar (who is in face MY main as well) for all thoes people who say bad things about this vid are just dissing the chain throws which can be overused sometimes but are a very large part of the game and help result in a very fun and exciting fight. Olimar is great... as long as you can keep your Pikmin sorted out, he can have powerful, ranged grabs, leech health at alarming rates, perform strong smashes and aerials... not to mention his speed and small size.
ok there are three major things i want to point out on this...
1. olimar is not at his best when he spams his down grab and up smash just like in this vid... really its just kinda cheap
2. all of olimars moves... well like 90% double as shields if used correctly and he flat out APE RAPES anyone except mr. game and watch trust me i know X'(
3. as an olimar fan (he is my main) plz notice the counter characters for olimar (mario, mr.g&w, kirby) are not there or controlled by nubs.

you can't infer that hypothesis from one video - this was posted almost 7 months ago. also, advertising your hypothetical skills on youtube earns you little acclaim.
Unfortunately, I live in a remote part of pennsylvania and get considerable wi-fi lag that makes playing Olimar (or any character, for that matter) considerably difficult.
That said, I won't sit here and call myself amazing or advocate my skillz. This video wasn't intended as a "hey look at me" kind of thing.
My response to girls717 was simply motivated by my defensive nature: I won't say I'm better than most, but I won't accept others downtalking my Olimar because of a combo vid.
oh but i have a question, i think that white pikmins suck bad i usually kill them by throwing them off the edge and replace them by others, but you did often use them, are they useful in any way? because when i do smash attacks with them they dont throw my opponent much far....
white pikmin have pretty much one purpose in life: pikmin throw
obviously, thrown pikmin are easy to get off, and you're correct that white pikmin are not strong at all. However, if you can get one to latch onto your opponent at a time where he/she can't get it off immediately, white pikmin latch attack for ~6%, and the damage adds up fast.
oh also, white pikmin's weak knockback does have some uses. you noticed in the video that I chaingrabbed alot. Sometimes, the strong knockback of purple or blue pikmin throws makes chaingrabbing impossible to keep up. White pikmin, however, send the thrown character almost nowhere, so you can almost always chaingrab when you Dthrow with a white pikmin, or combo into an aerial if you Uthrow.
Thats the thing about Olimar..the only way he can fight is by grabing with his long reach garb but he recovers quicker than the rest who long reaches...thats whack...but good video...

lol - did you watch like...2 clips? Less than a fourth of these clips were dthrow chaingrabs (aka...this was not "mostly dthrow chaingrabs). Many didn't even use the dthrow at all.
hint: using the dthrow to set up for a Fair (for example) isn't a chaingrab. That's called a combo.
pikmin pummle is a combo made by me its fun and instant winage
1:have a purple pikmin last in your group
2:have 2 poison pikmin
3:the rest red
4:throw the red and 1 white pikmin
5:use the last white and purple pikmin in your group to get them to the edge then knock them off call the pikmin then use a down smash at the edge throw the purple pikmin then grab throw down >lD
What I like about this Olimar vid is that it shows you can win as Olimar WITHOUT the edge-hogging crap. I main Olimar as well and he is such a beast. Bravo to you man

i main oli and to evade the 'grab combo' just jump :P its time to get hard evade combos or grabs
a usefull 'combo' is grab with yellow or blue pikmin at 0% dtrow and then run and usmash... itskinda usefull... and if ur fiteing a heavy guy u can just jump and uair
and if u have time to trow a white pikmin before the grab u can get a decent 50-85% i have done it myself to alot of chars :P

Unfortunately, I live in a remote part of pennsylvania and get considerable wi-fi lag that makes playing Olimar (or any character, for that matter) considerably difficult.
That said, I won't sit here and call myself amazing or advocate my skillz. This video wasn't intended as a "hey look at me" kind of thing.
My response to girls717 was simply motivated by my defensive nature: I won't say I'm better than most, but I won't accept others downtalking my Olimar because of a combo vid.

oh but i have a question, i think that white pikmins suck bad i usually kill them by throwing them off the edge and replace them by others, but you did often use them, are they useful in any way? because when i do smash attacks with them they dont throw my opponent much far....

white pikmin have pretty much one purpose in life: pikmin throw
obviously, thrown pikmin are easy to get off, and you're correct that white pikmin are not strong at all. However, if you can get one to latch onto your opponent at a time where he/she can't get it off immediately, white pikmin latch attack for ~6%, and the damage adds up fast.

oh also, white pikmin's weak knockback does have some uses. you noticed in the video that I chaingrabbed alot. Sometimes, the strong knockback of purple or blue pikmin throws makes chaingrabbing impossible to keep up. White pikmin, however, send the thrown character almost nowhere, so you can almost always chaingrab when you Dthrow with a white pikmin, or combo into an aerial if you Uthrow.

-It's really emberrising to get beaten by olimar cuz he's a freaking allian with a weird hat that throws plantlike creatures at you.

Thats the thing about Olimar..the only way he can fight is by grabing with his long reach garb but he recovers quicker than the rest who long reaches...thats whack...but good video...

lol - did you watch like...2 clips? Less than a fourth of these clips were dthrow chaingrabs (aka...this was not "mostly dthrow chaingrabs). Many didn't even use the dthrow at all.
hint: using the dthrow to set up for a Fair (for example) isn't a chaingrab. That's called a combo.

yep - purples have a shorter grab (about 50% - 75% of average), while yellows (and maybe whites) have a slightly longer one.

Yep,Olimar is the best character in the game if he's in good hands.
By the way,Olimar has a load of combo's,fucknuts.

pikmin pummle is a combo made by me its fun and instant winage
1:have a purple pikmin last in your group
2:have 2 poison pikmin
3:the rest red
4:throw the red and 1 white pikmin
5:use the last white and purple pikmin in your group to get them to the edge then knock them off call the pikmin then use a down smash at the edge throw the purple pikmin then grab throw down >lD

What I like about Olimar is how fast his moves can come out. Kinda like Zelda's 2K, but Olimar just seems to have faster attack rates.

i main oli and to evade the 'grab combo' just jump :P its time to get hard evade combos or grabs
a usefull 'combo' is grab with yellow or blue pikmin at 0% dtrow and then run and usmash... itskinda usefull... and if ur fiteing a heavy guy u can just jump and uair
and if u have time to trow a white pikmin before the grab u can get a decent 50-85% i have done it myself to alot of chars :P
