  • Why do all Prius people only focus on MPG? My truck gets 15 mpg and I don't care because I'm not poor and I can afford to buy as much gas as I want.

  • the kid in the brown shirt looks like alfred e neuman

  • I dont care about the enviroment. What difference makes 1/500.000 person using a hybrid car, and the rest petrol/gas car ? Shit, searching for a dodge ram 5000 that fucks the entire world, period. Thats for sure, a CAR.

  • Electricity doesnt pass any power/speed/horsepower feeling, thats my thought.

  • Why does everyone rip on the hybrid battery? They last well over 200,000 miles.

I'm buying a Prius within the next few months. My friends keep calling me gay but they get 15MPG so they can suck it.

  • those kids better recycle that cardboard or ill run them over with my prius

  • @nuduakj The process of mining, transporting (mostly by train), and burning coal to generate electricity, distributing it on the power grid, and ultimately charging the battery of an electric motor is by no means more "effective" (I think you meant efficient) or "clean" than modern gasoline powered car engines.

We simply decided to elect leaders who put "clean" power above motor efficiency, but once the extraction/conversion process of the fuel is considered, one is no cleaner than the other.

  • fucking ginger!

  • So how can an electric slot car be called a "hybrid" when it has no gas engine? Hmmmm. Nice use for a Sizzler set box, a pair of diecast Priuses and a Carerra Go! 1/43 scale set BTW. ;)

  • If you drive a Prius, you are a weenie.

  • @OnlyVees And if you drive a Powder-Blue Prius, you're gay. ;)

  • @nuduakj ... here you go, V8 sound for your soccer mom cars/vans:

    google SoundRacer V8

  • You just noticed how fast the car was going leading up to the loop...

  • Haha IS THIS A JOKE?? LOL

  • LOL!!! fag ass prius!! Eat my v8 emissions!

  • I don't get the Baltimore Inner Harbor at the end???

  • Or they could just smoke herb...still environmentally friendly ☻

  • Am I the only one less amused at the Prius and more amused at the Baltimore Inner Harbor?

  • Never heard of a Tesla?

  • Sweet commercial, but you don't need a hybrid to get 40mpg. Just ride a motorcycle!

  • @wildhorsehd You don't need any kind of special car do do 40mpg. I'd expect 40 from any small hatchback or diesel. Prius' are a fucking con.

  • The best ad!!!

    stupid hybrid

    petrol rules

  • Funny & Sad - maybe better with a couple of Tesla's !!

BUT Fact :- manufacturing 1 prius + disposing of "trade in" causes more harm to the environment, than keeping your old gaz guzzler going for the rest of your days. Please don't ask for proof - do your own research - it's all available on the interweb!

Not to mention all the rare earth metals needed to produce a hybrid - of which China is sitting on 90%.

I'll take a push bike over a prius!!

prius = end of (car) days IMHO

  • LOL!

  • Steven Brody Stevens

  • I rather buy a motorcycle then an ugly Prius. Hybrid batteries will be piling up in our landfills soon.

  • Thanks BP, for making this video

  • 0:49 at least clean your lenses, moron.

  • Hybrid cars aren't the answer. Hydrogen fuel cell based vehicles are. A Prius only makes sense in the city. If you try to drive it on the highway like a normal car you'll be lucky to break 35mpg, and a diesel can beat that any day. Not to mention the pollution involved in making all those batteries.

Short term solution: Drop the diesel tax and import efficient diesels from europe.

Long term solution: Hydrogen fuel cell cars using hydrogen produced with power from molten salt thorium reactors.

  • is this making fun of being a responsible earthling? blah...

  • Its funny that people think of hybrids as slow when the current F1 cars are hybrids.

  • @raceelectric By definition, sure...but an F1 "hybrid" is maybe a far second cousin to a prius or civic hybrid.

  • @raceelectric

A "hybrid" is basically any 2 systems combined to work as one.

The problem is when people hear the word "hybrid" they instantly think of the Prius and other electric/gas hybrids.

This is how the F1 Hybrid will work: "Instead of capturing the braking force as electricity, the force instead will be stored in a rotating flywheel as kinetic energy."

  • What cities sky line is that at the end?

  • @keepinlow Baltimore's inner harbor

  • This is hilarious to me because my dad has a Prius... He always drives to conserve as much energy as possible, which generally means "not accelerating".

  • @harvestsun

that didn't make any sense. you can only "not accelerate" to a stop before you start to accelerate.

  • @ping6uod It was a HYPERBOLE for crying out loud. I guess I could have said "not accelerating quickly", to avoid people taking me completely literally.

P.S. You astound me with your knowledge of physics. You mean something must ACCELERATE to transition from a state of rest to a state of motion? You just blew... My... Mind...

  • Prius - just another gimmick allowing Americans to feel superior.

  • @matthewheld

    prius is japanese made dumbass.

whats wrong with saving gas? of course the prius is not the perfect solution, but aleast its a means to conserve oil before we can find a way to replace using oil as a way to get energy. people talking BS on the prius are the same people who are too naive that we have an ENERGY CRISIS on our midst.

  • Comment removed

  • @ping6uod Yes, the Prius is made by Toyota FOR Americans, so Americans can feel superior. And why would you want to replace fossil fuels? A 1972 Chevy Silverado V8 uses exactly the same amount of fuel as a brand new Prius when they're parked. I would bet there's no one thing which has had a more profound impact on our automotive energy use as when gasoline neared $5.00/gallon - it's not that oil is becoming scarce - it's that we consume too much oil. I hope your mother gets cancer and dies.

  • @matthewheld

Can't tell if trolling, or just very stupid.

  • @matthewheld

whats the use of a "PARKED CAR"? base on your comments i guess your home should have wheels.

    your comparison lacks logic.

  • @ping6uod

    "prius is japanese made dumbass."

Depends what country you live in. Automakers build many of their vehicles in the country they're marketed for. It avoids the cost of exporting and rids them of the importation tax. In the end, they can charge the same, yet have a greater net profit.

For the past decade, the Prius has not been solely made in Japan (not the US.. though).

Think the Accord (Ohio) and Camry (Kentucky) are Japanese-made for the U.S. market?

  • @HorsepowerAddiction

when i say made i mean conceptualize or engineered.

your definition of made on the other hand is "manufactured"

  • Tesla S1 baby! Ever notice how Prius drivers are always speeding 10MPH faster than traffic?

  • Aren't those the kids in the South Park Alabama Man commercial

  • Awwhhh :( I wanted to see a car go round the loop

  • Yeah, the Prius isn't that slow and hell, you can get 51+ mpg going 70-75 mph* if you have a flat enough of highway. You got to use hills and slopes to your advantage else you'll be pretty slow.

I won't lie though, I miss my Altima. Throw a hill that will make a Prius suffer and it will handle it like a boss.

Also, zero emission and zero carbon footprint it is not. Well, maybe the new model.

*I bet it can maintain 51+ going faster but... I would like to maintain my good insurance, thanks.

  • Hahahaha!!! This is GENIUS!! They just knocked it out of the park.

  • Was this shot in/around Baltimore? It should be part of the film fests around here!

  • The strange thing is, nobody seems to know that electric cars (or even hybrids) have the potential to be way stronger and faster then normal cars. But the car makers "clock it down" so they can boast about their batterylife :(

  • @nuduakj: True that. And Toyota did make a Prius that went-full out on the Nevada Salt Flats years ago. But try telling these muscle car addicts that.

  • Wow! How many disgruntled Idiots does it take to hatefully respond to a "Funny or Die" bit?

...I count 51 so far. Fun stuff guys! Keep it up...

  • @nuduakj because when you drive it that fast it runs out of battery in 20 miles, and then you're screwed out in the middle of no where with no place to plug into. plus, they can't bring you a container of more electricity, while they could bring you another few gallons of gas

  • @nuduakj When those hybrids can sound like a big bore V8 then come talk to me about their potential

  • @nuduakj The stranger thing is, nobody seems to know that electric cars run on electricity which, in this country, is made by mining and then burning coal. GREEN FTW!

  • @sooperknob Coal powered electric cars will still be more effective and overall pollute less then gas.

  • @nuduakj yeah because if they allowed the kind of performance you're talking about the batteries would last all of 5 minutes

  • @nuduakj

Electric motors have more power but the big problem is battery life. If the tame electric motors are getting 100 mile range, then a high performance one wouldn't get anywhere...

  • wondering who made this.....

  • Brilliant!

Lovin the solar panel at the charging stations lulz

  • lol awsome video

  • Baltimore harbor at the end.

  • If only hybrids CAN race as fast as a Ferrari...

  • I felt that disappointment at 0:57

  • Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid would like to say hello to all Hybrid haters.

  • They are not that slow just FYI...

  • @davelogan77 they are still ineffective at reaching their self-proclaimed goal aka they're utter bs

  • @MSEuropa explain exactly what you mean..., I have one, and its gets 51mpg on the highway, and thats actually better that what the window sticker said...

  • thats's pretty sad but these cars are our future

  • Love the autotune... lol.

  • lol !!!

  • The future of car fun is almost nonexistent according to this video XD

  • Whenever I've seen Priuses on the road, they're speeding...but they must've started accelerating 2 days prior.

  • Death to hybrids!!! Great upload

  • auvsome!

  • nice! the kids play the part perfect

  • @fivefortysix you're a Debbie downer lol.

  • Not that I'm a Prius fan, but you could be at least factually correct. You don't charge a Prius.

  • Comment removed

  • @fivefortysix The new model can. I heard it can go 50 miles on a charge. Not sure if you can go full electric on the highway since its currently capped at 25 mph, less when its raining. Its an interesting concept, a plugin hybrid. It be nice to speed up on the highway then maintain freeway speeds on electric.

  • My only critique is that the Prius still has a considerable carbon foot print...

  • @WinterBeaterDriver It does not! Haven't you ever talked to a Prius owner? Most of them take credit for stopping global warming all by themselves!

  • @fuhteng I have a Prius, I don't give a crap about global warming, I do however give a crap about spending money on gas!! :-)

I consider myself the "anti-Prius-Prius owner"

  • Fart-sniffing greenie idiots - they deserve a car like this. The Volvo of the noughties!

  • @averysensiblename Don't compare Volvo to the Prius! Volvo made so many awesome cars, they had turbos, rear wheel drive, and where build like tanks.
