there's more to a legal hit than having ur feet on the ground. Taking 3 or more strides to throw a hit is considered charging. Can't really see if that happened in this video, but just a heads up

Gretzky 2 - people have said that about Crosby, Tavares, Ovechkin, and even Lindros, so I never take "the next great one" too seriously, it gets thrown around too much lately.
You can't say he would've been better than Ovechkin because there's no way you can back that up. He may have been a good hockey player, but we won't ever know how he would have done at the NHL level.
I don't think there's anyway he could've been as good as ovie and I do think that ovechkin and crosby have the skill and talent to be as good as gretzky, but not cherepanov, although he was very good

actually this play should have never happened because Cherepanov tripped up another player in his own zone before he got the puck. It was accidental but because of it he was able to receive the puck and start a rush and therefore should have been called back to the penalty box.
I don't know anything about the circumstances but this hit is illegal because first of all it's charging and second of all Sutter's feet left the ice. It could also be game misconduct for intent to injure and refs in the NHL may call it that way.

i don't know wether it's also international....
in north america doesn't exist any rule like this, if i remember right...

don't complain about the hit without complaining about the illegal sluefoot that cherapanov did on sutter. it is obvious it was not accidental and he meant to trip him up, and that is perhaps the most frowned upon action amongst hockey players. RIP Cherapanov, but that was a bad play on his part, and no this video shouldn't be taken down, if anything it should be used as learning tool... DON'T SLUEFOOT!

actually this play should have never happened because Cherepanov tripped up another player in his own zone before he got the puck. It was accidental but because of it he was able to receive the puck and start a rush and therefore should have been called back to the penalty box.

I don't know anything about the circumstances but this hit is illegal because first of all it's charging and second of all Sutter's feet left the ice. It could also be game misconduct for intent to injure and refs in the NHL may call it that way.
