  • Is this what I should change if my Ford Explorer 05 has an ignition problem? The first time I turn on the truck, it's fine. But, after about an hour driving it and turning it off, the second time I turn on the ignition, the truck does a little shaking, and then sometimes turns off.

  • plz help i have a 2000 nissan pathfinder and SES light is on and the problem is the o2 sensor and the shop wants to charge me $500 u.s dollar. do you think that is a fair price for the job? thanks and could i do it my self?

  • @chuasmare22 I'm sure they are charging a high rate for labor plus their disposal fee, etc. I'm thinking about half that price is fair.

  • @ClarkW66 me too. i will go to other place and try. thanks tho.

  • @chuasmare22 I just today paid $200 at my local shop for them to replace an oxygen sensor.

  • @SenorDennis is it the same car?

  • @chuasmare22 No I have a 1997 Toyota 4Runner but it should be the same price with any car

  • @SenorDennis yes, it should be but it ain't.

  • @chuasmare22 Are they trying to replace multiple oxygen sensors?

  • @SenorDennis no only one......but the guy at the shop told me it is hard to get to it.

  • @chuasmare22 Try going to a couple other shops and get quote's see if they compare

  • the meter is saying its my catalytic converter the machanic said he thinks its my oxygen sensor because when i changed my spark plugs and wires i crossed one of the wires and droved my truck it was missed fireing then the engine light came on can this be true just change the sensor

  • Thanks man!

  • Not sure on that, sorry.

  • question on my two whites wires do it matters with one i use

  • Don't buy a Bosch oxygen sensor, junk and Bosch auto parts are nothing but junk.Topping off the gas tank will set it off.My Grandma Rose's Saturn was this way, replaced the oxygen sensor was replaced twice.Found out she was topping off the gas tank and told her to stop doing this.Did and the code did not appear anymore.

  • @wafrederick I very much doubt Bosch makes junk. Bosch actually invented the lambda sensor in 1976.

  • @unknownaccount99 I see bosch products fail,I work as a mechanic.Bosch's spark plugs cause missfires in Chrysler products including GM.

  • Thanks man, just bought two new sensors today that come with wires, gonna put them im soon, it'll be hard getting under my 97 camaro so wish me luck, you saved me a great deal of time and money

  • epic

  • hey really helpful thanks man

  • Very nice video men tank you so Mach

  • call to change O2 sensor at some places in my city, got the price of 350 dollars!!!

  • how do ou know when its time to replace the sensor?

  • those obd2 readers are awsome - nice video

  • The question came up, which one is bank 1 and 2

Bank 1 sensor will always be on the same side of a V6 or V8 engine as cylinder number one. The upstream is normally before the catalytic converter and downstream behind it. The sensors work the same.

    Hope that helps

  • @ClarkW66 Hi Clark, My code reader only says bank 1 sensor.. Is there a way to determine which senor in bank 1 is bad? Or just change them both out? Thanks for the info it was very helpful.

  • Try to avoid splicing into sensor wiring. Just spend the 20 bucks and get the connector. Once those connections start to corrode and impede the signal flow, you will have nothing but issues with power, fuel consumption, and false codes.

  • That is very true. On my other truck I just purchased the OS with the connector already installed and it was much easier and you don't have to worry about not getting the splice sealed up good.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Good review, thanks.

  • could as easily be a fuse

  • Great video, my '99 chevy readings are for the O2 sensor bank also. I have been searching for how to repair it. Thank you,

    Gina

  • nice video. thanks.

  • Thanks for the video, I changed all 4 of my oxygen sensors on my 04 tahoe just to be on the safe side!

  • thanks for the tutorial.

question: if a car usually has 4 senors - which one do you replace if the diagnostic says the o2 sensor needs replacing?

    any advice is appreciated.

  • Hello,i really appreciate you posting this very helpful video.Thanks.Can you please help me with replacing the oxygen sensor of my 2001 ex honda passport? How many sensors do I need to replace and what type of 02 sensor to use?once again thanks

  • Sorry for the delayed response. To be honest with you, not sure on a honda passport. Most cars have 4 sensors, two in front of the converter and two behind it.

    Thanks for your question
