Even with the release with the Iphone 5, isn't verizon still gonna have problems with its tethering because that's just how the old signal towers work? (Or something like that, basically, ATT's network can handle tlaking/surfing internet 'cause of its structure, verizon can't.)

I've been saying for a long time that I'd dump AT&T as soon as another provider got the iPhone. I'm bummed though that the first alternative I get is to pay more for less. Hopefully the verizon 5 will be 4g and do voice and data at the same time and still have an unlimited data plan. I'm ready to go.
I think i upgrade in April so I have a good couple of months before I make a decision. But I'm considering the HTC Thunderbolt, Verizon's first official 4G LTE phone. I know for sure that I'm not getting the iPhone 4, for all the reasons you mentioned. Yea the Verizon LTE network won't be shi% for at least another year or so, and the iPhone for verizon has the sim card spot on the side still. JUST LIKE THE AT&T VERSION. Verizon is using GSM for their 4g LTE network so it's likely that you will be able to buy the card and install a os update. The only benefit i have found is that the iPhone 5 will use gorilla glass.

Wrong! The iPhone 5 will be EXCLUSIVELY offered for AT&T users upon it's initial launch sometime in June with a Verizon version to follow possibly at the end of the year. However, in June Verizon is possibly set to launch a 4g LTE version of the iPhone 4. If Verizon does offer a 4g version in June they will most definitely be offering a special upgrade to their current iPhone users, much the same way they're offering iPhone upgrades to their current Droid users. So go get your Verizon iPhone!

LTE isn't popular until 2013, y pay an extra $20 a month for a service u can't use yet, PLUS iPhone 5 has a weaker 3G antenna, which you'll use more often. get iPhone 4, then 6. not 5.

Not everybody is on the AT&T network and was just waiting for Verizon to get it.......that is a terrible assumption. @bachmannfrasco Ive got a couple friends with HTC, and they all hate it. Its slow, bad internett, F'd up touch. And have you tried to turn a HTC on? HAHAHA! You can turn a Sony Ericsson mobile on and off twice in the time a HTC uses to go on. Now this probably don't go for every HTC, but Iphone is better at most points and are way more user friendly.

Hey 4G or LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a data only network that runs at speeds up to 40Mbps per second download and up to 8Mbps upload. It uses the 700Mhz band in the air that which was the old analog TV band. (Remember a few year back when everyone had to go HD or get a converter box) The 700Mhz will not only be faster but it will travel farther from the cell site and better penetrate into buildings. So the Iphone 4G or 5 will have a data radio for 4G and a 3G radio for voice/data.
I have a quick question for anybody that can answer it. I've had the original Droid on Verizon since the release date, and I've always been able to make calls AND surf the web. It might be because I don't use the original web browser, I use Dolphin HD, or not but I've always wondered why that is? I always hear people talking about this BIG issue, but it doesn't seem to have any affect on my phone. Any answer would be helpful, and I also made sure it's not on wifi.

I have a Motorola Droid right now and I have to say I'm definitely ditching Android for the iPhone 5. Android has served me well, but the whole idea of an iPod and phone all in one on the service provider that I currently use is too good a deal to pass up in my opinion.
well..LTE is too new for apple to get in to the game. iPhone 5 will be lackluster like 3gs was (no lte) and then jan 2012 LTE will debut on vz iphone then on att in june 2012. verizon has launched in 38 cities and att will have completed their initial launch by the time LTE iphone debuts. this strategy keeps ppl buying iphone but most importantly keeps the LTE carrot dangling and of course apple will be mum the whole time.

While it's true that the iPhone 5is still speculation, I think we can assume the timing is bad with your contract renewing every year and a new iPhone arriving 6 months after you get th previous generation every single time. @ itstrentmichael DUDE wow!!!! You gotta get your facts straight. Verizon already has 4g for there android there keeping it for there android phones. Until the iPhone 4g comes out it will have the 4g feature and will enable you to do FaceTime anywhere.

Not To be Rude...But here Are the reason Why I don't Want the Iphone 5
1) Its going to cost more if it is 4g ($250)
2) If the the Iphone 5 IS 4g It will Charge you another $10 a month over your data plan so $40/monthly
3) What can you really change about the iphone Its already amazing right now
4) Verizon (after a month or 2 there will be no Unlimited data plan :O
These Are the reason why I don't Want An Iphone 5

it wont be iphone 5. it will be iphone 4G. just like the 3 became 3G. It will probably be the same but it will work on verizons LTE network and you will probably be able to use facetime whenever. but i dont think there will be many upgrades to it.

Wrong! The iPhone 5 will be EXCLUSIVELY offered for AT&T users upon it's initial launch sometime in June with a Verizon version to follow possibly at the end of the year. However, in June Verizon is possibly set to launch a 4g LTE version of the iPhone 4. If Verizon does offer a 4g version in June they will most definitely be offering a special upgrade to their current iPhone users, much the same way they're offering iPhone upgrades to their current Droid users. So go get your Verizon iPhone!

If I were a verizon customer, I honestly think I'd wait out another 4 months for a better phone. But the next iPhone, believe me when I say it, will not have 4G service. We probably won't see 4G on verizon and at&t till 2013 or 2012.

LTE isn't popular until 2013, y pay an extra $20 a month for a service u can't use yet, PLUS iPhone 5 has a weaker 3G antenna, which you'll use more often. get iPhone 4, then 6. not 5.

@Xxwwehd606158450Xx Haha well it looks like the iPhone 5 will have just slight revisions over the iPhone 5, but they may be worth waiting for. The iPhone 4 has a capped data plan so we're not sure about unlimited data on the Verizon iPhone 5.

Not everybody is on the AT&T network and was just waiting for Verizon to get it.......that is a terrible assumption. Also assuming that the iPhone5 will be coming out in 4 to 5 month is a huge assumption. Especially since apple spaces its gadgets out usually a year apart. LTE is not really available here in the US and T-mobles 4G network is in its infancy.....so why would any company AT&T or Verizon rush this or any other phones out for this network that is NEW????

Maybe the system in US is old fashioned and very compatible to an i phone. We have no probelms here with HTC because Switzerland has the newest technology and a very high standard with the UMTC net for internet. Wish you a good start n the new week with i phone nonsense.

@bachmannfrasco Ive got a couple friends with HTC, and they all hate it. Its slow, bad internett, F'd up touch. And have you tried to turn a HTC on? HAHAHA! You can turn a Sony Ericsson mobile on and off twice in the time a HTC uses to go on. Now this probably don't go for every HTC, but Iphone is better at most points and are way more user friendly.

Hey 4G or LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a data only network that runs at speeds up to 40Mbps per second download and up to 8Mbps upload. It uses the 700Mhz band in the air that which was the old analog TV band. (Remember a few year back when everyone had to go HD or get a converter box) The 700Mhz will not only be faster but it will travel farther from the cell site and better penetrate into buildings. So the Iphone 4G or 5 will have a data radio for 4G and a 3G radio for voice/data.

I have a quick question for anybody that can answer it. I've had the original Droid on Verizon since the release date, and I've always been able to make calls AND surf the web. It might be because I don't use the original web browser, I use Dolphin HD, or not but I've always wondered why that is? I always hear people talking about this BIG issue, but it doesn't seem to have any affect on my phone. Any answer would be helpful, and I also made sure it's not on wifi.

@immortalsticky I'm pretty sure that means you were on Wifi. Verizon 3G has never beenable to do this. I have an OG Droid myself and I've been able to talk and surf at the same time, but only on Wifi.

1. Different network (solved) making iPhone Win
2. THE THING IS 6+ MONTHS OLD, Androids are finally have similar specs. And it was out was before. (will be solved in 6ish months) Making iPhone 5 whipping the turd out of Android. ( if they made a dual core iPhone that would freaking COOL) who agrees?

your a fuckin idiot if you buy a iphone now. the 4 has been out for more than 6 months, a new one will be here within the next 6 months. Its best to buy when they first come out or within a few months of that, because 2 years later your contract will end at the same time as the new one comes out.

I have a Motorola Droid right now and I have to say I'm definitely ditching Android for the iPhone 5. Android has served me well, but the whole idea of an iPod and phone all in one on the service provider that I currently use is too good a deal to pass up in my opinion.

well..LTE is too new for apple to get in to the game. iPhone 5 will be lackluster like 3gs was (no lte) and then jan 2012 LTE will debut on vz iphone then on att in june 2012. verizon has launched in 38 cities and att will have completed their initial launch by the time LTE iphone debuts. this strategy keeps ppl buying iphone but most importantly keeps the LTE carrot dangling and of course apple will be mum the whole time.

@flexent That sounds about right. iPhone 5 is to the iPhone 4 as the 3GS was to the 3G. But still - You never know what Apple might throw in there while they're waiting for LTE to be more widespread.

not a bad video and a good review of the phones and quality speaking so i do appreciate that. I don't like people giving "wait til iPhone 5" as a reason to not buy the 4. iPhone 5 is a speculation for June, although it would follow the natural pattern of iPhone announcements, its still speculation. That being said, so are features of the iPhone 5, which also means no confirmed features, no confirmed date could leave Verizon customers with older phones or junk HTC Droid phones waiting.

While it's true that the iPhone 5is still speculation, I think we can assume the timing is bad with your contract renewing every year and a new iPhone arriving 6 months after you get th previous generation every single time. I'd stay stick with AT&T for a few more months and upgrade when the timing is right... In June!

I personally think you are wrong. Steve jobs said it himself that the iphone fans wanted it now so there was no 4g. I personally do not see a 4g iphone until 2012. It would be far to expensive and bad buissiness practice to launch the 4g three months after the initial launch on verizon. you gotta use some brains kid.
