  • Compare to Ko-propo, which one is better

  • If I use this charger, plug in a 7.4v 20C 2000maH lipo and press discharge, will it discharge all the way? Because I heard if you discharge a lipo (7.4v anyway, please forgive me, I'm new to lipos) below 3V I've heard that it will ruin your battery - will this machine automatically stop discharging before it's drained to 3V or do I have to manually set it. If I have to, could someone please tell me how? Much appreciated.

  • what connectors do i use to charge my 9,6 v 2200 mah battery with small type tamiya connectors ?

  • you need the male tamiya connector i think, imax b6 doesn't come with tamiya right ? then you need to make it.

  • i just bought this charger, but i heared that its balancing function is not accurate, is that true

  • yes it is compared to expensive brand ... but it is ok for me, what my concern is when charging i need to know if anyone cell is malfunction, imbalance between cell of 100mv is acceptable ...

  • I also wanted to let you know I got the newer Imax B6 charger and so far it works perfect.I have a few Zippy Flightmax 2200mAh 25C batterys and all 3 cells balance charge perfect to 4.20V and thats checking them with a volt meter too.Its a awesome charger for the price..

  • yeah !

  • How do I charge a 4.8V 4300 NiMh battery?Do I plug the battery in,set the charger to NiMh and start charging or do I have to set it up for a 4.8V 4300 NiMh battery? Thanks so much for helping us out with this charger.

  • yes just simply plug your nimh pack and select nimh charge mode ether auto or manual mode

  • So I don't have to program anything, just plug the battery in and charge it.How does the charger know if its a 4.8V or 6.0V battery?I just don't wanna over charge my batterys..Thanks for the help..

  • it is auto detected !

  • I just bought this charger and 2 3cell 2200mAh zippy lipos for my Trex 450 Sport.I had a Align 2-4 cell balance charger that had no display and it didn't discharge so I hope this charger is better..

  • yes you can use b6 to discharge although only 1A discharge rate !

  • I was pretty much saying I hope its better than the Align Align RCC-4CX 2-4 cell balance charger .The Align charger is basic, plug it in and wait for the lights to turn green.

  • hi! why do you charge a 2100 mAh battery with 4A? isn't it too much? i thought the charge current is the capacity * 1,05 , so 2100 * 1,05 = max. charge with 2205 mA / 2,205 A??

so i think 4A is too much! but when i'm wrong, correct me please! :)

  • its depend on battery's characteristic, i use 2C charge rate, consult your battery vendor for max charge rate, e.g. flight power pack can be charged more than 2C ?

  • hi there mate,

i have jus got my IMAX B6 and a 5000mAh Li-Po from EC Power....

but i don't know why is it not getting charged??

i mean i have connected everything, in balance mode just like you, then i am trying to press the start button, but i don't see no minutes running or something that shows, that my lipo is getting charged

i 'll be very thankfull , if you could help me out?

    thanks

  • please do make sure few things step by step see if it can help to identify the caused !

    1. make sure lipo mode's voltage is selected, imax b6 can be configured either lipo mode as li-fe 3.6v or li-po 3.7v, incorrected configure may caused earlier complete

    2. connect "both" main cable and balance wire are connected

    3. use lipo-balance mode to charge

  • last question i shouldn't answer, but make sure you did : when start button is pressed (and hold for 1 second), you need to "press" the start button again to confirm !

see if it can help, let me know if you still have problem

  • thanks mate :PPPP

thumps up, its working now....its not mentioned in the instruction to press it longer!!!!!

    but thanks lot

  • one more question please,,,

I'm am charging a 7,4 V 5000mAh at 1.0A, its been 1 hour now, but it still not finished yet?

on the top right the voltage is gone to 8,20 V now??

    is it normal??

    thanks

  • 500mAh if you want to charge at 1C you need 5A not 1A, you are charging 1/5C, need long long time ....

imax b6 is 50W power therefore if you charging 2 cell 8.4v you can set charge rate to 5A without any problem.

if you want to charge 3 cells 5000mAh, you are allowed to charge max current at 3.9A (50W / 12.6v = 3.9A)

  • what should i do now?

should i cancel the charging or

should i first discharge it and than charge it or it doesn't matter at all?

    thanks for ur help mate!!!!!!!

  • you can cancel at any time, re-adjust the charge current to 5A and start again immediately, NO PROBLEM !!!

  • you can cancel it at any time, re-adjust the charge current to 5A, and charge it immediately ! NOT PROBLEM

  • ok thanks..

  • hong kong

  • Intelligent guy :)

  • hi i set my charge rate on my imax b6 to 4.0 amp to charge a 4s battery i have a 5.0 amp output ac power supply.

  • the brandname of the lipo is stunpower available in local hobby shop (hong kong), what mAh is your lipo ? e.g. if your lipo 3s1p can handle 2c charge rate and you want to charge with 10A, you battery's capacity should atleast 5000mAh, please make sure the lipo can be charged at 2c otherwise is harmful.

  • hi,what is the brand of lipos,i have a lipo that can handle 2c, do you know if i can charge with 10amp?, because i want to buy a imaxb8
