Unions suck. When I was young I was a teamster. While I sent the packages to the truck I would run out of boxes to send. there would be a fork lift, and a hand truck right where i was and the boxes were nearby, but I would have to wait 1/2 hour for someone to bring the boxes to me,because I wasn't a material handler or a fork lift guy when I did it myself I was told I was stealing other peoples jobs. You're a tool. Raising wages through government coercion creates inflation. In essence, you get paid money you don't deserve, which in turn increases cost. Cost prevents a business from being competetive (like Albertson's which is going out of business). Cost also increases inflation, you cannot buy as much with your new raise, thus the raise was worthless. Detroit is failing because of unions and the coal industry and many grocery stores. Unions are only good at creating unemployment.

This is a red herring. EFCA gives workers, not bosses (as it is now) the choice between card sign or ballot. The bill's real meat is in tougher penalties for employers who violate workers' right to organize without intimidation or retaliation.
