It goes to show what an amazing singer Katie Melua is because she managed to turn this atrocity into an amazing song.Her version is on her new album Pictures.
i've discovered this album only recently and immediately fell in love with it. my favourites at the moment are "The Land of Plenty" and "You have loved enough" though "Alexandra Leaving", "Love itself", "Boogie Street" and all others are not at all worse! Sophisticated texts, elegantly catchy melodies and intimately quiet and soft voices of Cohen and Sharon Robinson. Hypnotic!
This may be one of Cohn's greatest songs. His rich voice is not overcome by the lyrics even though it may well should be. It's an enviable tie. It's an autopsy on the heart and very few people could lay it so bare as Leonard Cohn. We want to rescue him from his vulnerability. Not that he would allow that or that we have any right to tread on such sacred ground. In the end, I just feel blessed that I could hear and feel this unique expression of human need so kin to my own.

The music is great. Something I want to listen to. But the video is awful. What...potato heads? What...kissing...huh? Think a bit! When you get a good tune, mix it with reality! I.e. C.I.A./K.G.B. stuff/Big crime scenes etc would look better. I think.
