The tires should be inflated with nitrogen to keep them a bit cooler and a synthetic hydraulic oil should be used too. Imagine picking the slag up and the lift ram blows a seal or hose covering the front of the loader (which you are sitting in) in oil and going up in flames... ;-)

The newer faster furnaces can dump a lot of slag fast, and it adds to the building's heat load, and needs to be removed. Which also makes more room for more slag...
