I think it is the camera, it is the 'thunder' that is made when the water rushes into the chasm. It is pretty loud at times, and the water when it splashes up can be powerful, those railings had only recently been added because a child had been swept into the water and drowned.

i don't mean this to be rude, and i understand that it may be that the camera isn't doing it justice...but what is so spectacular about thunder hole?
