Sorry I don't know much about religion..(Even had to spell check to make sure I spelled it right)..My inner? God usually goes on about how they are all based in evil, anyway, so neither He/She or I plan on joining any soon.
I stumbled on this video because I was looking for this song by the Commodores.
Now, I'm curious about the origin of the head gear..
Was it because the Men in your area couldn't trust themselves with YOUR beauty? cont...
Or was it because of lack of H2O making for frequent "bad hair" days?
Also..Can guys wear them?
They're getting more photo-radar out here in AZ to catch speeders (drivers) like me and I need a disquise..Hey..It might work.
Anyway...If YOU are good..Keep being you and thanks for posting a video to a song I suddenly remembered that I forgot back in my (teenage) 8-track days.
because they are brain washed with all the crappy movies they ve seen about Arab world, they should know better :if the virgin Mary and the Christian nones cover up, it doesn't mean they are oppressed, same for Muslim women
I've decided that the issue I have with hijabs is the same issue I have with African/African-American women straightening their hair. Neither hijabs nor straight hair are bad in and of themselves. The thing that may be bad is the motivation behind them. If the motivation behind it is one of repression, then I have an issue. But I can't assume that that's always the case. What I have to do is resist the urge to assume that I know a person's motivations and use the opportunity to open dialogue.
As a Jordanian, I am sure that no Jordanian has asked her to speak for Islam, or even for Jordanians. She is the last one who is qualified to speak for Islam. If she cannot stop herself from talking anyway, she can for sure talk about her companies such as BMW, or fashin; a thing that she loots the Jordanians' money to enjoy.
i think it's silly to argue that a little girl could 'not' do something that everyone in her family/friends circle does--it takes an enormous amount of strength to want to separate yourself like that, even if you have a good reason for it. that being said, i wish people would stop viewing women wearing hijab as synonymous with suppression. it's traditional and an article of clothing--there are more important issues out there.
I'm also American, so no explanations needed about what's said there in general, thanks. Also I feel like that's so out of context. Firstly, it's not like modern Nuns enter into service involuntarily. Secondly, please replace those children's pictures with pictures of nuns and let's see how seriously that's taken. Nuns do not need to be liberated.
Also, I'm not saying that suppression of women isn't an important issue. Read Leila Ahmad's "Women and Gender in Islam," it's spectacular.
Do you think that you know enough about Arab culture to dictate what they want or need? I don't intend to be disrespectful but I find this arrogance to be the norm in America. Does Queen Rania need to be liberated?
Most people that wear hijabs in iran have to do it. Take away the goverment then you will notice 90% of the women dont use hijab just like before the revolution.
I don't understand why they make little kids wear hijab, who don't even know what religion is or what options she/he has. that looks like more than brainwashing.
hmm..its just like Christians when they baptize their child or Jews when they have the circumcision..so yes Muslims put hijabs on their daughters who mostly want to wear it because her mom does and if she doesn't want it on then she can take it off at such a young age. So your point is pretty much irrelevant.
The hijab only becomes compulsory when a girl reaches puberty. While the pictures in this video only show little girls that wear hijab, the fact is that there are just as many that don't wear them. Even some grown women don't wear it. It's up to parents to decide how to educate their children about religion or to familiarize them with it.

Dear Hotpockets248 , "i wish people would stop viewing women wearing hijab as synonymous with suppression"
In America we don't say the same for Catholic Nuns.
