How does one race balloons... you are at the mercy of the wind and unless you can see the airflow around you you would have fun trying to plot your course a few hours into the future.

@dangerouslytalented YOu can make helium out of hydrogen via nuclear fusion. So they just need to make some nuclear fusion reactors to make helium

@eveningniteshade ... but this is a rather expensive way of doing this. Much cheaper is the technique where you distil it from natural gas, and this will end up costing $100 per party balloon.
