quick question, what is your opinion on host gator? I like the look of their program, did you at any point think of using them or know anyone who did?
Thanks, Lisa. Your video just confirms what I've suspected all along. If you're going to feature links on your site, it's better to find quality sites relevant to your content than to engage in link exchanging. I want more links to my site, but in order to get that I have to work on my content.
I sure do when the site has great quality. That's what I'm trying to emphasize in this video. When you create a quality site people will link to you voluntarily without requiring a link exchange. I link to a lot of sites for free (no affiliation) when I feel they are valuable to my audience.
Hi Lisa its about 1:30am pst, I see you have posted a fairly new video, and im gonna check it out,I wanted to tell you i ve been watching and reading your info you are really on point thanks for sharing your information so freely ,,,your awsome god bless
Another good vid Lisa. I found using Article Directories to gain some backlinks is a great option. EzineArticles or Buzzle are the ones I use. Actually, I think you taught me that :)
I hate link exchanges. Don't forget the spyware and self installing toolbars on some. The only link enchange I like is Site Build Its. You recommended it a while back. It doesn't give me oceans of traffic but very targeted traffic which is better.
This is all hopeless and not fair. I am not looking for link exchanges, I am not asking for handouts. The truth of the matter is that it's so hard to get a decent Page Rank, that I am not even sure, I want to continue blogging. I think Google needs to adjust their policy and let people work hard and get what they deserve without making them dependent of somebody else linking to their sites.
It's not just about the PageRank. My PageRank dropped 2 years ago but my traffic from Google increased. I understand your frustrations but there are GAZILLIONS of sites fighting for traffic so Google has to figure a formula to determine which ones deserve top billing. And if you think about it, link popularity is really the best way. If they left it up to onpage criteria only, it would get abused by crappy sites that don't deserve a rank. Hang in there, OK? It's worth the hard work. :)
Backlinks from quality, relevant sites, using anchor text related to the keywords you want to rank for....also, what people should do is make sure they have good internal link structure to put emphasis on their most important pages. Get targeted backlinks to deep pages instead of always getting links to the homepage...and you can rank for multiple keywords. Also if people don't add content pages to their sites their PR will go down eventually b/c the internet is growing.
@redflower99 yes! I like that Lisa is a champion! She gives awesome info! Even though this is a year old I wanted to thumbs up but couldn't so I decided to reply!
I agree with you. I have a couple blogs that I update regularly. It is difficult to attain TRUE links to my blogs. I despise link exchanges because I want real quality.
I'm no expert but it seems if you aren't getting links to your site it's either because your content needs work or people need to find it. Yes, Google favors the popular sites, but their job is to point people to the best info available. If they don't, they lose traffic. It's kind of a Catch 22. As Lisa has said, time and again, bring value to the content of your site then start promoting in the right places. It all takes time but it works.
And thanks, Lisa! I learn a bit more with every video.
You are currently the TOP youtube subscription I have, I anxiously wait for your videos. I changed many of my website policies based on you SOUND ADVICE, with no regrets so far, and it is AMAZING how you don't miss a single video with GREAT, USEFUL, PROFITABLE information. PLEEEEEASE keep up the good work.
Lisa .. Please Please Please, center the picture in the background, its driving me nuts lol .. just messing, good info as usual, i have done some amount of link exchange, but i normally let the other site know that i only do it for x amount of time.
Also you need to be carful because some of the sites you exchange with may wait a bit and then add the rel="nofollow" without you knowing so it ends up as a backlink to them :(
I will say this, though: While I miss the office, the lighting is better, but the video quality is worse. I don't know if exported your movie file as a smaller one, but I really think its worth it to wait for the longer upload to finish at higher quality.
I didn't do anything different. Notice the message at the top says the video is still processing and quality will improve. I didn't change anything in regards to the quality.
what is it you are not saying? What is hidden? The fact people attract to what they are interested in?

Have you made your first million yet?
It's not hard.
I see many ways to make millions.
I design my own products and bring them to market.. Google Fatt Trixx.
I don't need to share with anyone . people link on to my name and product.
try it Fatt Trixx. 3n1 unisex handbag.

Link exchanges can be useful if they are implemented in a correct and organic manner.
