Well, the OLEDTV is only as good as the source material If your cable provider used bad compression, It's gonna look shitty no matter what tv you have.

I don't have an "HD" TV, I'm still using Analog, But I've seen "HD" and I hate seeing fucking squares.

I don't care if my Cable Company says it's 1920x1080, If I see squares, I would rather watch it on VHS...

The whole SD VS. HD Could mean anything.

A SD Camera could be a cheap ass $40 Camera from Walmart or it could be a $2,000 Canon GL-2

A HD Camera could be a Flip Ultra or a DSLR.

Consumers are gullible to fall for Buzz Words.

It's like my friend, he almost spent $300 for a motherboard that's "military grade" and that's why he wanted it.

@commodore256 lmao you have no clue what you are talking about due you? that cheap ass $40 camera probably has a terrible quality at like 5 mp, now the $2000 camera has probably full real hd and 100x zoom great mic and all. And that friend of yours that almost bough a motherboard thats military grade, is a great motherboard like the MSI X79A-GD65 Intel X79 Motherboard which has military class right on the heatsink, it is a very good mobo that i have used.

@commodore256 If you have seen hd you would know that if u see squares it isnt hd, my current pc has ASUS Crosshair V Formula mob at $240, AMD FX-8150 Processor $270, 2 VisionTek Radeon HD 7970 Video Cards $1140, 4 120gb ssd's $400, Thermaltake Toughpower Modular Power Supply 1500W $375, Corsair Dominator Desktop Memory Kit 32GB $290, Total w/out case and other is $2715 add another $1000 or so for monitor keyboard mouse water cooling ect. More money better stuff if done right.

I think I know the answer but are the Samsung super Amoled screens oled? I'm pretty sure they are. I definitely think every screen should be oled the colors are amazing, the viewing angles are ridiculous. It's like the difference between VHS and bluray when you compare oled screens to any other displays.

Isn't the reason why OLED technology hasn't really been introduced into TVs because it is much more expensive to make into a larger screen? So what has changed now to make it be able to be used in TVs? And how reasonable is it to assume that if it does become more wide-spread it will come way down in price? Even to the point where everyone can afford it?

@zzxxccvvbbnnmmist The cost is definitely higher, but not as astronomically high as our estimates make it out to be. And as more companies work to develop this technology in competition with other companies, they find ways to make it cheaper, better and more appealing for customers.

I think the product you are showing at the 1:35 mark is a Samsung OLED TV. (I work for the company and recognized our booth!) I guess I took offense that you mentioned LG specifically, but not Samsung. Both offerings are gorgeous, however!

I think Sony is doing it right. The Arc was a great upgrade from the X10, and then Sony released several phones with similar specs aimed at different audiences while promoting the Arc the most, now they release the Xperia S, also a major upgrade from the Arc, all of them with at least 8 months in between.

I think OLED is going to become a standard. It's like moving from tube tvs to flat screens. There's no new concept being introduced here, so there's really no fear of rejection from consumers (looking at you 3D TV).

The reason I think that OLED will take off vs something like 3D is that 3D is a feature. Its a gimmick. OLED is what the TV is based on, not just something to tack on and jack up the price. I too hope that OLED will take off because my car steroes screen is OLED and my phones screen (Galaxy S) is OLED and it is a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

This seems like something that could really catch on, I'm currently using the sony 24" 3D display that was created for the PS3 and I use it for both my PS3 and my desktop. The picture quality is stunning but now it looks like im due for another upgrade :D hopefully OLEDs will become so popular LCDs become obselete and everyone will be able to have one.

OLED is great. Having been spoiled by Samsung's awesome Super AMOLED screens on their Galaxy phones (the Galaxy Note in this case) all other backlit screens look pretty terrible
