The word "Chronic" means: A persistent and lasting disease or medical condition. Simple tiredness and regular fatigue are normal human realities. CHRONIC fatigue is a serious medical condition.
The title of this video has been changed. It once said "Chronic Fatigue SYNDROME".. It has now been changed to simply say "Chronic Fatigue." It is the same in origin.
And to all those who say that people with CFS complain too much; you have NO idea how badly people suffer, MUCH more than just fatigue!
Its just amazing the me the ignorance of people who no nothing about ME/CFS , But can voice an opion as to get ver it or it doesn't excist with out thinking about the person who is so sick there whole life is altered.. This physician is clearly talking about someone who is tired all the time. Not some one who has ME/CFS. Anyone that thinks it doesn't exist should maybe take the time to educate yourself instead of being so critical. This is a debilitating sickness!
She is talking about 'chronic fatigue' which everyone experiences from time to time, NOT chronic fatigue syndrome, CFS or CFIDS. CFS is much different. Post exertional malaise can have you sick in bed for weeks to months.
There are FIVE different causes listed- ONLY ONE is correct: ILLNESS.
I have been involved in research (Stanford) for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and have seen countless suffering patients. People with CFS have shown to have lesions in the brain, abnormally high cytomegalovirus and EBV, along with severe reactive hypoglycemia. NONE of which are caused by anxiety, psychosomatics, lifestyle OR stress.
Actually, I feel that what she's saying is very valid. I'm an anxious person and often suffer from chronic tiredness and this is made worse when I am stressed out so it's true that anxiety and being tired goes hand in hand b/c oftentimes ppl who are anxious can't sleep well, which leaves you without enough rest to get you through the day.
Okay... but anxiety is merely another symptom of an underlying medical disorder; for example an endocrine deficiency like hypothyroidism will cause anxiety. Healthy people do not suffer chronic anxiety and chronic fatigue even when subjected to stress; these are signs of illness which should not be written off as behavioral choices. Don't ignore your symptoms and don't let medical providers tell you to walk it off; if they do, find another doctor.
Yes, what a disservice to an already misunderstood condition, and notice that this so-called specialist can't even spell psychosomatic correctly.

This information is *DANGEROUSLY INCORRECT*!!

These can exacerbate CFS, but DO NOT CAUSE IT!
