  • Actually they're not any particular breed. At the time they were introduced in the 1970's the ponies were acquired from Bill Pugh who was in the middle of developing a new breed - the Virginia Highlander Horse. He had acquired quite a few ponies for his breeding program - among them Shetlands, Icelandics and, significantly, Welsh & Hackney ponies. They have really developed and become their own breed over the years.

  • the ponies are in Grayson Highlands so they are named correct they have alot of different colors....i like riding horses there
