A little heads up to everyone!

The old Nexuiz as we knew it is now called "Xonotic". Due to internal conflicts, the project was "forked" by the active developers (the people who made it), which means Nexuiz was left with nobody left to work on it - everyone moved on to Xonotic.

Xonotic is the next version of Nexuiz. It's just like Nexuiz, but with even more awesome graphics, features and gameplay! And it is of course as free and open source as Nexuiz was!

For all of you who asked about the game engine.

From the official website: "Nexuiz is based on the Darkplaces engine, built on OpenGL technology. The darkplaces engine is an advanced Quake1 based engine developed mainly by Forest "LordHavoc" Hale, who has been working with the Quake1 engine for many years. "

Also either Halo is ripping off this games music or its the other way around. It's fucking identical in almost every way.

Definitely my favorite open source arena FPS. I'm really interested to see how it's going to play on console with the CryEngine 3. Unfortunately, I'm not too thrilled to be paying for a game that I've been playing for free for a few years now.

They sold Nexuiz to Illfonic(game developer) so Nexuiz is coming out for PS3, but Illfonic doesn't want Nexuiz(PC) to run anymore. Compromises failed, words were slewn, and Illfonic quickly got haters

Nexuiz for the PC will now be remade as Xonotic FYI

Best arena FPS since the original Unreal Tournament. This game uses a lot of what made old school Quake and Unreal Tournament (1999) great in addition to amplifying the crazier elements of those games throwing realism out the window in favor of fun and balance.

the special thing about nexuiz is how much speed you can get. you should just keep practicing in multiplayer and even in single. using the speed is very useful if you want to become a better player. :)

Awesome. Massive shader and weapon models upgrade. The rocket launcher looks the same and I don't like what they did to the Nex (this is the what they call the sniper rifle in the game right?) but overall, the game is starting to look cooler. It even beats some retail games out there.
