  • I agree A feast of Crows might be my favorite even though Jon and Tyrion my favorite characters are not in it

  • Dude, sit up straight and speak clearly for heaven's sake, you just mumble all along, what a waste of bandwidth.

  • My favorite character was Tyrion. Cersei was painful to read in feast for crows but i was entertained when she was imprisoned because she was finally forced out of her delusion that she's an infinitely unstoppable and powerful ruler. I'd like to ask the author why there was so much incest in the books. I was startled at the last sentence of the last Arya chapter, something like "When she woke up she was blind." I guess I won't know until the 6th book, if Martin ever gets around to it.

  • yeah, I think it's funny people are mad about the events of FFC, even though it's been stated why the 'favorite characters' are benchwarming until the next book.

The whole series has been utterly unpredictable, so to me, to bet mad at FFC for being unpredicted is criticising one of the very best assets of the series.

Alto, Storm of Swords depopulated so much of the cast, it's neccessary for FFC to put new characters forward, even if we aren't warmed up to them yet.

    IMO

  • I love Jaime and Cersei's chapters in AFFC. The split of the previously unbreakable bind between them created a very intriquing bit of reading.

I disagree with your Sansa argument though. Myabe it's because I have not read it recently but I don't remember Sansa Manipulating littlefinger at all.

Sam's chapters were boring except with maester aemon. HE was the true star of sam's chapters. In all honesty I've hated sam since the beginning,

Nothing added to the plot with Brienne...useless

  • I Iiked Brienne, and I quite liked her chapters. I liked her conflicting duties (to Jaime and to Catelyn ), and how she dealt with it.

And i disagree partially with you about Arya. I thought she was her own character since the book started (she's been my favorite character since ever), and in this book she flowers into something very inteteresting.

  • Agreed! On almost everything, I'm not sure about the littlefinger part though.. But I think the fact that it's so different makes it (the wholeness of the series) kinda unpredictable (which is great!)But one thing though.. If it was me sitting there talking about that book, I would have gotten soo carried away and enthusaistic. You're not completely convincing dude.. But thanks for posting :D

  • i just posted a message on the other video but look any one reading this, yer martins books are good bu you need to read steven eriksons books, ive never read any thing like it, there are 9 books so far with more to come but dont worry about getting fragged in to another wheel of time, these are possibly the best fantasy books ive ever read, and ive read a few. dare i say it, martins work seems like a fairy tale when compared with eriksons, ive read all 9 books 4-6 times and im still learning

  • I share your opinion about affc.

I can see why many people don't like it as much, but I also see why it is just as great as the previous books. As far as character development goes in affc, Sansa, Arya, Cersei are all moments of genius, like you said. (although I'd say Arya's transformation began in asos)

You should have talked about Jaime, too. He also made a breakthrough in affc, IMO.

Not much happens in affc, true, but the events in the book set a strong base for the future development.

  • Favorite Characters: Jaime Lannister, Jon Snow, & Sir Jara Mormant(msp?), and oh yeah of course Tyrian Lannister.

  • I think you mean Jorah Mormont.

  • i found that a feast for crows was an excellent novel in the series. true, it did not have Jon Stark, Deaneryess or Tyrion, but it did have a strong plot and some dark twist. it also ended in a good cliffhanger as to the fate of certain characters as Jamie and Bernie the Beauty, as well as the outcome of Samwell Tarly and Sansa Stark, who is beginning to outgrow her childish naivety. like you said, it is a foundation for a dance with dragons

  • It didn't have those characters because A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons were originally one book, later split because it would have been too long as one. Hence why the viewpoints for those characters (and others) have been moved to the fifth.

  • Also I think you mean Brienne... and I'm not sure why you inserted "the Beauty" in there. You do realize that's a mocking title, right?

  • if you like dark twists, complex character and world developtment as well as an extremely well thought out plot, try steven eriksons books, the malazan books of the fallen (starting with gardens of the moon), trust me its worth it
