MXL R44 / R144 Ribbon Microphone (Audio Demo)

Wow, this mic is an incredible buy. How much did you get the thinner ribbons and the Lundahl transfomer for? I'm considering getting two of these and mixing them on cabs etc. If I only end up with one, I really like the warmth of the Lundahl modified one. Is there a specific place I can find the transformer for it?

@slightofhandband I made the ribbons myself and bought the transformers directly from Lundahl.

i like the stock better, with the lundahl it seems to lose its warm character en starts sounding like a regular dynamic mic..

@snuggert Both transformers are warm, but the stock transformer can't handle high frequencies.

How hard was the transformer to replace in the MXL 144? Seems to brighten it up a bit.
