  • What an absolute atrocity! I am trying to respect your tribute to JD, but for god sakes you have ruined any of the artistic integrity Dean represented.

  • Could someone list the tracks from that shortfilm.

  • Genious.

  • terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You must realize that James Dean took incredible, heroic amount of Benzedrine. The come downs and the highs are most likely what drove the dude up and down the wall.

  • How do you know this? were you his personal Doctor? :)

  • I dont think he was bipolar either. neat and tidy we have to put everyone in a box. If someone is, god forbid, different, and has a little more energy in certain creative directions or sees the world in their own way, we have to think of a demeaning label for them so we can *understand*

  • Come on kids the man was just growing up and trying to show us how to do it ... in a back to the future way, if he was alive today, he would laugh at 'the kids' and the kids wouldn't like him anymore because he wasn't cool anymore ... or maybe not, he might just have had a family and settled, used his creativity to become a producer/director and given us some amazingly creative films to think about (whilst getting old and less beautiful behind the scenes).

  • Enjoyed the short film. I'm reading "Surviving James Dean" By William Bast. It's incredible how we created this icon we call James Dean. The movie depicts the depths of this phenomenon quite well.

  • Well, I see what you were trying to achieve. The story is good... I wish you had used more facts, but it's cool. I like the editing. The way it was put together was pretty great.

  • THNAT WAS HORABLE

  • He was, he was, the youth of the nation.

  • Nice @ the Suede song! These guys are friggen hot.

  • I could relate to James Dean....

a moody sensitive artist who always carries around heart ache.......

    missing his dead mother.......

longing for his fathers love & acceptance......

being totally broken hearted by the only girl he truly, truly loved....

using his pain to enrich his talent....

    that's me.....

  • I don't believe doctors were able to properly diagnose bi-polar disorder in the '50s. It's all speculation & I resent ppl that never knew him stating it as a fact. I disliked this video.

  • James Dead never died. He is living in Pittsburgh with Jim Morrison and Buddy Hooly. the are operating a Martinizing Dry Cleaners.

  • and how do you get your hair like that?

  • this is awesome..i love the linkin park song but you should do another one with a diferent song

  • hey where'd you get that jacket dude?

  • Wow best one ive seen yet! Just Marvelous man!

  • Thank you, wow, it´s just brilliant!

  • u2 sings- doug your film is too cute!

  • great video. what song is that during 8:30 who sings that and whats the name of that cool song?

  • an other one... who think is an artist...geezzzz

  • Good work !

  • Linkin Park dude?... come on...

the only sequence I liked was the jump into the opening credits of Rebel. but other than that... Linkin Park?

  • troubled? manic depressive? self destructive? who isn't? dissed family? who doesn't ? music doesn't cut it for the 50's era...

  • uh....kinda missing a Porsche spider. He didn't drive a gay-ass Cabrio.

  • right on - the Porsche is half the story - the mechanic & the place (blackwell corners) is the other half - JD is the whole story

  • great!!!!!

  • great work!

  • Hello,

it is very sad and unfortunate, that the world so great humans lost!

  • i love the musics!!

  • this vid is a joke right?!!

  • jimmy drivin a vw!!! never!!!

  • yunno it only clicked in my head not too long ago that James Franco looks a lot like James Dean...no wonder they cast him to play Jimmy

  • Great idea and the guy playing Jimmy obviously did his homework on the way he moved etc BUT

The music really doesn't fit at all.

Although James Dean was a troubled person he died in an accident and never had a 'death wish'.

Btw, James Franco playing Jimmy was amazing. Have you ever considered, though, that he became such an icon because he only made 3 films and died so young?

  • I think him dying young made him more mysterious, but his death does not outshine his enormous talent. He's one of the best actors I've ever seen.

He's famous because he's made 3 films, stole the show in all three of them.

  • I totally agree that he is enormously talented and definately one of the best actors I've ever seen, too, but I meant him becoming an ICON - people who become icons do often seem to have a tragic end (Marilyn Monroe, for example).

  • Great job.

  • Great job.

  • bad quality of thr filming, but brilliant consept, and realy god actors, espesialy the one who is jimmy

  • k wtf he didn't have a death wish and wasn't depressive.

and he was driving a spyder 550 not a peice of shit golf

  • yuck!!!! what crap. stupid, sophomoric, and an idiotic sound track.

  • I think he was driving faster than that

  • sad for about 5 seconds but otherwise dumb

  • James Franco starred as James Dean in a TV movie called "James Dean" back in 2001. He did a fantastic job.

  • James Franco defs!!!

    and he did anyway

  • Brad Pitt is beautiful and talented but he is too old now to play James Dean. Fifteen years ago no doubt he could have pulled it off.

  • I think they should do a modern biopic of James Dean, and I think the only actor who could pull it off is Brad Pitt, any thoughts??

  • WOW... that was good!

  • Mad props bro..

  • WOW...that was really amazing! I enjoyed it. It was beautiful and yet chilling at the end.

  • what do you mean death wish?!!!!

  • He didn't have a death wish.

  • When did James Dean's Volvo hit a Ford Explorer? I think it was '55. J/k, good video man.

  • Interested. It hard to believed that he been dead for over 50 years and we still consider him Icon!

  • brilliant.

  • ah,ah,ah....

  • Were You Drunk? When You Did That

  • wat song is it that comes on at 9:33?

  • wat song is it that comes on at 9:35?

  • fatboy slim - right here, right now

  • wow i have that book

  • wow- you guys did an amazing job. i especially liked the flash back sequences and the set up for the "drunk with a toy monkey" scene. touching :``(

  • Excellent video. Original. Makes you think. It's really, really good.

  • love the 50's style cinematography and great acting i never doubted for a min that that was relay JD. like how u showed his love of motor sports with the Ferrari 355 and him going to the Porsche dealership t olook at boxters witch are considered by most to be the modern version of the 550 spyder

  • that was awesome. great job

  • Big J.D. fan, good job guys. However, I think the actor that played Rolf looked more like Jimmy than the casted Dean, but I will say the actor playing Dean really had his movements down--excellent music selection as well.
