Yes he lead the country in rushing yds but so did J.J. Arrinton and he wasnt a 1st round pick. Arrington did it with less attempts and still put more yds then gerhart so i really dont know whats this is all about.

@FreshTaper1994 Well, Mark Ingram had 1658 yards on 271 carries. Toby had 1871 yards on 343 yards. Mark's average per carry was 6.1. Toby's average per carry was 5.5. Mark also had 177 more yards receiving, and 3 more touchowns receiving. My point has been made.

If Mark had 343 carries, like Toby, then he would have about 2092 yards. If we average out they're carries, then each would have 307 carries. Then Mark would have 1872 yards and Toby would have 1682 yards. The reason Mark won the Heisman is because he was the best runningback, and the voters agreed.

The Heisman is voted on. Whoever has the most 1st place votes wins the Heisman. Mark Ingram had the most 1st place votes. Therefore, he was supposed to win the Heisman. Mark won and that's it. There's no changing it. He will forever be known for winning the Heisman in 2009, and Toby Gerhart won't. That's it.

I personally don't like the idea of the Heisman because there really is no way to tell who the best college football player is because really, it's all a matter of taste. People will want Toby to win because either he's a white runningback, or his team sucked. And then every other candidate will have some reason that their favorite should've won. It would be easier with just All-Americans.

gerhart is a strong and fast running back. I dont give a shit if he's white or black, he played against strong teams and produced great numbers. I think it may take a couple years for him to get used to the NFL, but I think he'll make a great NFL back someday, either at half or full.
