The conclusion is... When you need of clean and crunch boosters for your amp, both RC Booster and EP Booster are complementaries. OMG, give me more money. ha ha.
How does the sound quality change during the video? There are times when hes not playing that I can hear like a single coil buzz, but when he starts playing it goes away. How is that done? Thanks for any info.
@clewi1091 Haha cuz when he talks it switches back to his crappy vocal mic, which is capturing all the room noise, and when he stops talking and starts playing it goes back to just his amp mic, which is very clean. That's why sometimes on these videos you hear the guitar get suddenly louder if the guy starts talking again when he's still playing, because the vocal mic activates again and the guitar bleeds through it.
@Fishies125 But wouldnt the amp mic pick up the single coil buzz? The amp is where the buzz is heard from so it looks it would be magnified with a mic. Just wondering. Thanks for responding.
@Fishies125 Thats what I would like to know how do to if you can tell me. I have had that problem before in a studio. It was so bad we couldnt even use it. When the guitar and buzz are both recorded in the same mic, how can you seperate them? Thanks.
@clewi1091 Well I'm nowhere near an expert in this subject but you should be able to just use a noise gate, like in Logic or Protools. It basically just keeps all sound under a certain level from going through. So you can set it to whatever level you want based on the level of the noise and the level of the guitar. Don't set it too high though or it'll start canceling out the quieter guitar parts. But there are a lot of guys who can explain it better than me, I just sort of know the basics lol.
Why would anybody who plays guitar in public for money be embarrassed to show up to the gig with some basic pedals? I think if you used that stuff with bad taste or it sounded bad then it would be one thing but he always uses pedals to great effect!

That guy can pick like nobody's business. The tone sounds kinda muddy, though. No spank or top end.

@poplex222 Pretty sure he's still with them. That is his original Fender that the Valley Arts was modeled after.

Using pedals right is a talent in itself.
It doesn't help you play better or make things easier it just adds colour to your tone and makes your playing work better in a live environment.
Brent is a master, legend

i don't know man, do you really need all those pedals. i would be embarrassed to show up at a gig with that much stuff. but then i'm not brent mason.

@swing8th
Yeah, it's kind of strange. I just put my amp on a stool wherever we pick, plug in and play, all these pedals would irritate me as well...
