  • lol just daggerfall with some higher res textures and 16:9 resolution support + no bugs would be perfect

  • @holysab7 Google DaggerXL

  • @Beefforyou I've checked it out before but it seemed kind of incomplete...?

  • @holysab7 It is.

  • I remember stepping out of the tutorial dungeon, hearing this music and saying to myself, "This game is going to be EPIC."

  • This is the #1 Daggerfall music. Love it, and would like an extended version.

  • Daggerfall and Morrowind's music, Oblivion's combat and graphics, Arena's.... ok, Arena sucked. And Daggerfall's scale. And Sunrise of Flutes song from Oblivion. Morrowind's Armory.

  • @BleakandDead Arena's setting perhaps... and it sucked, the only thing it did was start the franchise. Whoever needs that.

  • @Sturdge666 No one wants a map that big i think, it was horrible for the n00b to take a look at the map for the first time, i was like, "Okay, so, where am i?" xD

  • I play this game with dosbox, how come the music in my game sounds nothing like this? It's more like really low quality midi, it almost hurts to listen to it with headphones.

  • @dipshitdoodah What Midi-device do you use?

Try using a different in the Dosbox config and of course the Daggerfall setup.

I think this is the Roland MPU401 version, but I might be wrong about that.

  • this song reminds me of..... banjo kazooie jajaja

  • Awesome music, awesome game.

  • which soundcard do you pick to get this music?

  • @codename36 probably roland midi synth, i used that and it increased the quality of my game.

  • omg, daggerfalls music and atmosphere, morrowinds depth and landscape, and oblivions graphics and gameplay, that would be a great elder scrolls game...

  • @kalesmart1 That's what I say The Elder Scrolls V should be. Bethesda needs to look back at their older games, sure Oblivion was a huge success. But do they really think that a game with Daggerfall's depth and complexity coupled with Morrowind's beautiful landscapes and atmosphere with more modern graphics wouldn't be an even bigger success?

  • @Hagermanly With the processing and storage capacity we have today, we could do all of Tamriel the way Daggerfall was done (ie with a big help from random generation), at the cost of outdated graphics. It would be awesome.

But it won't happen because if they don't pack the next game with 10 GB of graphics it won't sell.

  • @kalesmart1

AND the tactical and moral elements of Fallout 3.

  • @kalesmart1 + The simplicity of Arena. :D

  • @kalesmart1 Skyrim perhaps?

  • @Devintuel Well the depth was lost right htere.

  • @kalesmart1 so, Skyrim.

  • @lordkhan skyrim's size will obviously not be the same as daggerfall's, but I don't see why it wouldn't have the other two.

  • @Surakemastura The only thing lacking will be the depth and maybe Daggerfalls music if that's so important.

  • @kalesmart1 it would need some bits of gameplay from morrowind and the others too. Little in oblivion had a point because everything in the game was scaled to player level, making it repetitive and often boring. Combat in oblivion sucked to. you just press the button over and over again until the thing dies, which doesnt take long

  • @MaddBadgerr The combat was even worse in Morrowind dude...

  • @Beefforyou all it takes is a bit of getting used to, and the ability to notice what weapon bonuses youre getting from your race/class. WHY do people have so much trouble with the latter...

  • @MaddBadgerr Well, you specifically said "You just press the button over and over again until the thing dies". That's exactly what you did in Morrowind, except it's a little more fun in Oblivion.

  • @Beefforyou not necessarily. you COULD just hammer the button in morrowind but its better to hold for a bit, let go, hold for a bit let go (recoil and power attacks work differently so you can hit stronger without reducing too much speed). theres also the minimum damage and maximum damage (instead of the same damage again and again and again), and the differences between standing still (downward strike) walking sideways (horizontal slice) and walking forward/backward (stab). like i said more fun

  • @MaddBadgerr Perhaps there's a lot of options, but that doesn't make it fun. It was probably the most boring combat system I have ever used. That doesn't make the rest of the game bad, but the combat system really lacked.

  • @Beefforyou i see you havent played Final Fantasy III(NES/DS)...

  • @MaddBadgerr Final Fantasy III is irrelevant. Maybe it sucks, maybe it's good, I really don't know. All I'm saying is that the combat in Morrowind was kind of shitty.

  • @Beefforyou fair enough, but the variety of weapons and balance of skills/attributes was still better in morrowind

  • @MaddBadgerr I'm definitely not going to argue with that.

  • Yeah Oblivion had one of the best soundtracks ever too. Ive never heard music that is as immersive as TES.

  • I was three or four when this game came out :D

Man I almost wished I was born earlier just to play this fucking game :-)

Daggerfall = The Best of Elder Scrolls

  • Daggerfall had great music

  • mm i remember this song playing in the Mages guild

  • Man did this music set the mood of the whole game...

  • these were also in arena?

they should have kept some of these themes for the new games, so much better than all the new melodies

  • I beg to differ. Even though Oblivion had a low count of tracks, they were still very good.
