Same here. I have a 2011 Edge and it has never worked correctly from day one. After numerous trips to the dealership and them supposedly updating the system and "doing something" I got the service manager to admit that it is a national problem and the software is just "buggy" and "bad". They, of course, promise an fix all update the first quarter of this year. We'll see!!!
Why, in the world of Android, iOS, did you think it was a good idea to put MS Sync in your cars? It really does feel like something from 1996 that works like it's from 1997. It's slow, clunky, buggy as heck, broken, and just plain ugly. I have a 2012 Edge and I spend more time trying to fix Sync than I spend enjoying it. Seriously, it's issue after issue after issue. I like to listen to my Spotify music over Bluetooth but this only works 40% of the time. Other than Sync the car is great.
Ford/Lincoln.....you blew it!!!! Microsoft? Are you kidding me? Instead of the blue screen of death in my 2011 Lincoln MKX, you get "system is doing a scheduled maintenance". C'mon, who the hell believes that..it means the system screwed up once again, and has to reboot. I cannot pair my iPhone anymore, in spite of the fact that it successfully paired at least 20 times in the last 8 months...Oh wait, why did I have to pair it that many times? Because it doesn't work!!!
We have an ongoing list of issues with SYNC in our 2011 Lincoln MKX. After 3 service sessions, we have finally gotten the dealer to agree to replace the SYNC touchscreen system. There are issues with the phone, navigation, and audio. Had the system lock up the other day. Turned the engine off and it even returned to the same screen after turning it back on. NOT one of Ford's better ideas! By all means, when your vehicle quality is in question, team up with Microsoft. THAT should fix it!
Sorry Ford. This didn't work for me. SYNC stopped connecting to my mobile phone both in my 2009 and 2011 Ford vehicle. Same mobile phone. The pairing or re-pairing works but unable to connect. No firmware update available for phone. Did a Master Reset, removed SYNC from phone, removed battery from phone for 3 minutes and then Clean Re-pairing. Unable to connect. I think the problem is with SYNC.

GinoCentro, what kind of phone do you have? Sometimes there are system parameters on phones that disconnect bluetooth after a few minutes.
