  • this is beautiful!

  • does someone have the tab of this ???

  • riffs or chords for this song setting?

  • song should be on an early 90's jet fighting game for super nintendo

  • i think the title is referring to the length of time it would take me to learn the damn intro riff...

  • the style is nice! i really love the way he shreds

  • what is the name of the song and the group?

  • 1:14 - 1:18 Kiko Loureiro Lick, in "Nova era" Solo from Angra. :D.. of course, in another key, but it's the same pattern.

  • I have a feeling he played Final Fantasy when he was young!

  • i bet all of this asians were inspired by van halen as always

  • @synchroflip123 no, most asians were heavily inspired by Yngwie Malmsteen

  • @ZuoCruz true that bro

  • it will take u a LONG TIME to master this.

  • Frig man, after watching this me definitely love you long time! XD

  • I was kinda disappointed when I heard the studio version/album as a whole. I wish I just heard these now since it didn't live up to half of what I'd hoped for such a long time. Still a good solo though...

I also wish I was good at tabbing songs because his sound blends notes so cleanly it's difficult to tell what he's actually playing.

  • Satoshi!!!! where are you???? i need another album from you!!!

  • @bestiaonthedrum he's in a band called uchuusentai noiz as kotaro

  • I just wanna play this video over and over again.

  • you're all ugly

  • WOOOWW This solo have a lot of nices arpegios!

  • この手の人って、なんでこんなに曲がつまんないのかしらん?

  • 1st thought: Must...Go...Practice...

    2nd thought: Can't...Stop...Watching...

  • this version is better than the studio version!

  • Damn this guy string skips like no other!

  • @CherubicGuardian He doesn't skip the strings, he plays hopskotch with them. :P

  • 1) In google, type this: Satoshi Katada Blue Rain.

    2)Go to the last result:

    3)You gotta kinding me right?

    4)Profit

5)Thumbs Up if you think this comment was usefull.

  • It really kills me when people say "he sounds like..." Seriously. It's annoying, Katada-san, sounds like Katada-san. That's it. He has some cool clothes too.

  • tokas la guitarra bien fregon we!!!! hey man you play guitarr very cool

  • 5 people are retarded. who could ever thumbs down this??? o.O You 5 people need to try to play this difficult type music.. This stuff is hard as hell to play.

  • all that sweeping is making me dizzy 0_0

  • To me, his guitar sounds like when you turn the tone knob on the guitar all the way down

  • @MelodicGuitar23 because he's using the neck pickup.

  • That guitar has some of the worst sustain Ive ever heard..

  • poaaaah~~~ damn I would get knots in my hands <.<'''' very good!!!!

  • I love his tone and of course his playing

  • he sounds like rob marcello ,,, the sweeps are sweet ,,,

  • Tab please

  • this would be epic for a sonic stage lol

  • it's just sick how he can do picking with right hand tapping between so fluently

  • makes me cum

  • And Master of sweep picking too... sooo clean :D

  • Definitely one of my "must learns"

  • the actual name of this song is Blue Rain btw

  • he disappeared , i can´t see his name in the list of MI guitarrists. What happened??

  • totally just got this album!!!! :) FINALLY

  • @ACrum615 Upload it and share it! :D

  • @ChangGang message me for link....

  • cool!!but i prefer takayoshi

  • it seems this guy's style is a lot of taps w/ his sweeps

  • You could always try tabbing it yourself. :P

  • is it just me or do all the young guitar guitarists vibrato while muting the other strings with the index finger?

  • probly cuz the massive amounts of gain

  • It's a good technique to use to avoid unwanted fret noise

  • where is this cd???i cant find a download anywhere....anybody have this?

  • @ACrum615 I searched far and wide on the internet for a download, all torrent sites just refer you to other torrnt sites. Trust me, there isn't a reasonable download anywhere, I found none. You can buy the CD on amazon or from other places though

  • yeah ive looked all over too...i really want this CD.

amazon is selling it for 45$. yeah freaking right lol

  • @ACrum615 Well maybe not just amazon, last time I looked it was like half that, damn inflation :P

  • Just so you know....I downloaded it and it wasn't from torrents...good luck looking though!

  • I received mine Two days ago , and it is a good guitar don't worry

  • haha its awsome i got it today :D

  • haha

  • Comment removed

  • One day I'll have a GT-Forest or an Horizon

    And I just ordered a EMG 81 and a 85 for my ESP-F100:)

  • love his sweep picks

even if some of them are a little slower they sound amazing and are soo crisp :D

  • it's true that there's a lot of shredding

but they do have a lot of those guys who play slow too

i've listened to guitar songs and what i think is that a guitar song that is purely slow or purely fast is boring, it has to have both creatively combined

so shred is a good skill to have

  • You are right, shredding is a good skill to have, but you must compose for the song not for impress how fast you can play, anyways this japanese guys are pretty great shredders...

  • most of the japanese guys do have a melody behind their shred o.o at least the guys i've seen

  • shred never really died in japan. hell the old people rock out to stuff like this

  • @coltjones never died cause metal never influenced it as harshly as american guitarists.

They are the kings of video game music an most of this goes great with games. Granted its not from a game but it could still be on one in a heart beat

  • this type of music is neo classical music so that is y it is like that

  • no en realidad no es neo clasico el neo clasico esta mas ligado a la musica clasica, esto amigo mio es power metal, no hay ni punto de comparacion, el neo clasico es mas a escalas, y el power es mas de tecnica y velocidad

  • I think that these japanese guys are very good playing guitar, but they don't have much creativity..It's always the same, shred and stuff like that

  • this sounds nothing like the 80's...

  • i just hate that amp settings... sounds not really good :(

  • Is his stuff on limewire or some torrent site?

  • can anyone tell me wat guitar that is? it is so pretty!!!

  • esp

  • if you like this guitar then that means you will LOVE the Ibanez RG series :P

  • haha lol i like the japanese rg series XD

to me its nicer then the rgt and the standard rg's...

  • I'm pretty sure it's an ESP MV model

  • owh cool thanks

  • Edwards 128DT

  • its actually a Edwards not an actual ESP but it is a subcompany of them.

    hes playing a ECY128DT

    espguitars co jp/ edwards/cy/E-CY-128DT html

  • Ahh ok

    Edwards are good guitars too, but I didn't know it was an ECY, I saw some ECY with awesome looks but didn't make the link between the both;

  • you can see that's an Edwards when you look at the frets^^ ESP has another kind of wood.

  • es bueno el estilo japones, a este lo vengo siguiendo desde el año pasado, me gusta mas que el estilo occidental salvo en algunas exepciones..

  • If Chuck Norris could play metal guitar I think this is what it would sound like, I think I need more bass in my PC speakers.

  • how do u know if satoshi actually is chuck norris under a full body mask ;D

  • Chuck has hairy arms: p

  • i said full body mask..

    :D

  • you forget that Chuck is an inspiration for all metal guitarist, even Syu : p

Chuck created life, so he created Metal : p

He doesn t need any strings on his guitar, he just have to decide what sounds his guitar will make :)

  • Wrong actually drew pickles did. Fuck chuck.

  • Impresionante!

  • can someone tab this song !!!!!

    give me the link!!!!!!

    specially ex-11!!!!!

  • nah nothings wrong with his hands, just that he's is amazingly quick! Jesus the dude has speed

  • whats wrong with his hands...thye look like 2 sparklers

  • Comment removed

  • Don't kill me, but what band is this guy in? Or is he just a solo artist?

  • should there be a satoshi katada religion, i would be the most religious guy ever

  • i got a god Michael Angelo Batio, he is one sick guitarist in this world

  • Comment removed

  • that was nifty im goina learn this song

  • His sweep-tappings are godly... as well as other techniques of his.... I mean... that's just unbelievable. And I like his tones a lot too, as clean as air and as fluent as water.

  • Yeah, he's very smooth, where as people like Paul Gilbert are more "solid" (might not be the best way to put it)

  • his notes really stick out is wat ur trying to say?

  • i think what he means by smooth is that

    unlike some guitarists

satoshi's playing seems like a wave you ride on

not pile of rocks u run through

  • YES! Exactly! It's like arms sorta wobble while moving I guess.

  • hahaha

    arms wobbling

thanks that made my day lol :D

  • I agree, although Paul Gilbert and other classic shredders are probably more talented than Satoshi they just seem to beat their guitars down with brute force while this guy just goes with it. It sounds much more fluent

  • yeah, PG has a more staccato type of sound. The man loves to really digging hard into the strings when he alternate picks accenting the downbeat. Paul is so awesome.

Satoshi has a different touch on the guitar, more like a Tony MacAlpine fluid type of sound. Awesome too XD

  • wich band does satoshi play for ? or is he a solo?

  • BLUE STREAK

  • @WhoIsKebertXela yea he uses a lot of legato... check out Kristian Niemann if you like legato stuff

  • Katada and Syu are godly

  • that was so original. sounded great. is he using an esp? looks like an ibanez rg body but the little view of the headstock looks like a reverse esp head

  • The logo on the headstock doesn't look like ESP or Ibanez, see for yourself, I have no clue what it says.

    columbia

    jp/artist-info/katada/images/photo_katada01

    jpg

(Get rid of the line breaks and put a . wherever there was a break)

  • ...And that space in 'photo' shouldn't be there either, obviously.

  • The guitar in this vid as an Edwards model

  • no its an esp reverse headstock

  • You didn't even look at the picture, did you? And Edwards is under the ESP brand, because you obviously didn't know. They're usually of the same quality or even higher quality of standard ESP guitars, and only available in Japan. So you're wrong, in a way. It's an ESP and it isn't. Vbrajvong is right.

  • Hes got the case of Flying Pinky

  • I have that, the lil fucker wont stay down unless i'm using it.

  • Satoshi should become a janitor since he sweeps so well!! :D

...okay, I'm ready to be beaten for that pun now.

  • hahahaha xD

  • Shit, his playing is so GODLY,.

Wish i could pick sweep like him,.

    \m/

  • i love his tone and guitar in this song and the playing is just fantastic.

  • his playings so fluid and airy

    wat a beast

  • sounds so awesome...alot of people hate the fact that he doesnt really use his pinky but so what...jimi hendrix didnt use his pinky...and i barely use my pinky...not on purpose but thats just how i play...kinda like them =]]

  • Yeah, it's a matter of preference, really. But most people who don't rely on their pinkies AT FIRST tend to suck and play dirty.

However, I think Satoshi here learned guitar with his pinky, then figured that he didn't really need it to play cleanly, and just used his three dominant fingers.

  • His picking technique is perfect.

    This guy is freaking brutal.

  • that pinky...

  • awesome fingering

  • search 'popvoravit' ZOMG an amzing thai player

  • This has such an awsome feel to it

  • Japan, Sweden, and Brazil are the 3 countries you can find the best guitarists, this is absolutely amazing

  • Um, you forgot Finland.

  • i only know COB from there

  • Look up Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, etc.

  • sonata arctica is sweden

  • sonata arctica is sweden? HAHA :D:D:D Or not

  • WRONG!!!

  • but, stratovarius is Finland, and i actually have a song by them, but i didn't know who sang it

  • oops, i was thinking about hammerfall, hammerfall i swedish

  • And what about Vai, Satriani, Petrucci, or Vanderberg?

  • ok and usa

  • Don't forget Germany.

  • ok, every country is awsome!!!

  • except jordan

  • i luled

  • He remember me Kiko Loureiro :)

  • Just awesome! Melodic and very clean.. those sweeps make me wanna cry, cause i know i will never attain such a level of perfection.

This is what i like in japanese guitarists, they can be fast and extremely melodic at the same time (which is something rare).

  • I know what you mean.

Everytime I listen to Satoshi play, my nipples get hard and I get goosebumps.

    Very fucking melodic.

  • LOL !!

  • Yay, more people who dont use their pinky. I dont use mine either but thats cuz I broke it and now it doesnt grow. Three fingers feels fine, though it may look weird sometimes, its actually pretty great. Look at all the great guitarists who dont have a problem using only three fingers.

  • this guy does use his pinky. look at it at 1:09 he uses it alot actually

  • nothing else to say but wonderful!

  • realy inspiring ! i love j roks

  • 0:11 & that first few sweeps are awesome

  • what band is he in?

  • Blue Streak

  • does anyone know if there are tabs for it and where the source of this vid is? thanks alot;)

  • Young Guitar. Usually there's tabs for the "ex" parts of the songs. But it's rare to find them released on the internet

  • 1.its easer to reach I play...

    2. your sort of right why does everyone have to use the pinky its easer to play

  • Why is everybody hellbend on having to use your pinky? He shreds with the index, middle and ring because its easier, and uses his pinky when he needs the extra reach(stretches, taps, arpeggios, and intervals). Your technique on guitar doesn't matter as long as you can play, I thought this would be obvious but apparently the moron population is bigger than i thought.
