  • This is an ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT composition by this truly soulful vocal stylist!

I loved his work with Kenny G on the "G Force" recording with his special vocal talent in "Do Me Right." So funky!! His production effort knows no bounds!

  • QUALITEEEEE

  • I remember this song!! My mom's crack head boy-friend use to bump this.. He was a crack head but did he have some jams back then!! 30years ago...... wow where did the time go!

  • Kashif, I have been an avid fan your's, Since hearing your first album,I fell in love with the voice. Your age and mine is in tune and I have always look for your recordings. I have a brother that has given me a cassette donated by a co worker. I am not computer smart but today, I have found you again, goooooood listening and please don't change.

  • This is whooo...schfffffffffffffffffff Thanks.

  • The 70's, 80's and 90's where the decades of the best music. I am so glad to experience it. I would rather listen to this than the crap they are making nowadays.

  • timeless music we have had the best thank god i was born in 1967 i wouldnt survive with todays music jazz funk lives on

  • I used to listen to this lp (recorded to cassette) repeatedly as I drove back and forth to work in the early 80's.

  • Wow, this takes me back....

  • Sad that most people's perception of the 80's is hair bands, flock of seagulls, Madonna - like the whole decade was a joke; thanks VH1 and MTV. Such a productive musical era in synth R&B, funk, jazz fusion...

  • N!!!!CE

  • I could NEVER get TIRED of hearing this song, sooooo many GREAT MEMORIES, DAAAAAMN

  • He kind of looks like Michael Beach (In this Picture) Michael Beach played in the movie "Soul Food" and some OTHER movies after that.

GOD, THIS SONG TAKES ME BACK... I was all of 17 YEARS OF AGE :)

I had this album back in the day... (I don't know what happened to it I think it got "lifted" (Stolen) What happened to Michael Jones? AKA Kashif?

  • My favourite!!!!

  • This is the Jam!

  • sheer class music......fell the beat...

  • got this,offers

  • this takes me back 2 2nd grade. my aunt used 2 blast this in her 1983 buick regal with tha t-tops off.

  • My Mom's fav jam

  • Kashif!! this man right here inspires me to make beats

  • @ArchieGe Thank for that insight, I did know all the great singers that sang background on this track, I guess that why this song has a love come down feel to it cause Evelyn King sing on this track!

Also B.J Nelson, Fonzi Thornton and Michelle Cobbs sang background vocal for Duran Duran as well as Robert Palmer in the 80's in the 90's too.

  • Maybe Kashif can write some songs for these non talented non soul singers today.

The music today is so wack. There is no soul or rhythm to the music. No good beats. Just a lot of stupid lyrics.

All of the singers like Beyonce, Rihanna and the others that no one really knows their names All of them sound the same. Their voices are so shaky.

Their brand of singing is generic. The songs they make can be sung by anyone.

Jennifer Hudson is really letting me down. Where's the soul?

  • @MIMI88998899 I feel ya but it wouldn't help. Today artist don't have passion to cookie cutter...

  • LOVE THIS!

I love the "Kashif" sound and I love the fact that the way the word "lover" is enunciated in the chorus when they say "Lover turn me on!" sounds reminiscent of the way Michael Jackson would sing that in high note if he was in the song. It's like an extra bonus.

  • 1983 was a breakout year for Kashif , Mtume & Lillo Thomas and a great year for R&B music in general

  • One of the first cassettes i purchased.

  • the MAN STILL SOUNDS WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Dnload the audio from this video at thetunify doht cohm.

  • STILL my number 1 musical genius!!!

  • Yeah, it's the quintessential 80s sound, but this man came by it honestly, because he helped define the decade. Really listen to this song, and appreciate the production value; he thought out every note and beat from the synthesizers, drum machines, authentic instruments, etc. Evelyn and Lilo are there to enhance this track, but it's clear this was Kashif's record! THIS is the man at his best!

  • Desmond and Trevor Shakes ...upstairs the Ronnie Scotts [the maze ] first timeI heard this song and the they played the whole L.P. I bought it the next day ,!!!

  • Love these bass lines...I Just got to have ya...come turn me on.

  • Turn it up!!!

  • que du bonheur

  • Move With The Funk By FloTriXia :-)

  • Kashif is the man. Love the old tunes bringing me back..

  • sweeeeeet proper music

  • can someone please post the rest of the album

  • EEEE!

  • Wow I wish he would do something else. We need more artists like him. His voice is so smooth. I just saw him on Unsung with Evelyn "Champagne" King. Wow I miss his voice so much.

  • so good

  • OH! the good times of the 80's!!!!! This song got an infectious groove and vocal arrangements that makes it a Masterpiece 80''s Gem. This should have been a BIG crossover for Kashif. Many great R&B 80's songs with crossover appeal never were heard outside of the Black Urban market and this was one of them.

  • I like the emotional buildup that starts at 3:25 and then he releases it and comes full-force at 3:41.

He really drops it at 4:30 and 4:46 too. Very nice!

  • I really like this song. So far the play count on my itunes is 205 and counting; that doesn't even count the times I've listened to it on youtube and in my car!

  • this jam is still hot.........i remember this song way back when i was 18!! WOW!!

  • K. wzup ik ben het, alles gaat down met parnoiassia.

  • drove down wood green with this playin all the heads were bobbin up and down pure smiles

  • @mawishe SAAAME HERE!!

  • what an amazing guy. producer, musician, singer, songwriter. real african-american talent. not this new crap. they used the new technology back then, but they put real SOUL into the electric sound, which just hasn't been done well since, that's why we keep coming back to it. this is the sound that should of kept going in the urban market, but it got so computerized and fake. funny that's the stuff the kids like, morons.

  • This was my song - I killed it!!!! I remember begging this DJ at this roller skating rink place I used go to when I would visit my family in upstate N.Y. for the promo poster (he didn't know who the hell Kashif was anyways - lol). Kashif definitely had one of the best sounds of the 80s besides JImmy Jam & Terry Lewis & Teddy Riley/New Jack Swing....

  • I heard that Kashif is Atlanta's new mayor!?!

  • Whitney Houston, "You Give Good Love"

George Benson, "Inside Love (So Personal)"

Evelyn "Champagne" King, "Love Come Down"

And songs by Melba Moore and others ...

All from this smooth R&B hitmaker with his distinctive '80s "cool soul" sound. :)

  • Kashif has got to be one of the greats in R&B. The first time I heard his music, I was hooked. *****Stars to a remarkable musician.

  • I didn't know who sung this song until my fiance say Kashif. I didn't know that, but I remember this song. This was popular on KPRS 103.3 in the 80's.

  • As far as producers of danceable RnB, first it was Kashif, then Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, then Babyface, what a great era of music................

  • Kashif was great in Holland.

    sounds still very nice.

    Ashley Holland

  • this Kashif is somewhere between Steve Arrington and Luther Vandross - great place to be...

  • The highly influential Kashif - the music still rocks!

  • This album was the bomb when it droped and it featured Kenney G, La La, Ms Magee, and a host of others. He also produced Kenney Gs 1st solo project G Force, he produced an album for George Benson, Ms Evlyn C King, this was the baby face of the 80's.

  • Remember hearing this over NYC back in the day like it was yesterday. At that time, good dance music was all over, now you have to go to europe to turn on the radio and easily find a ton of good music. I also have a good Kenny G album from the early 80s by this same producer, Kashif, was a good LP.
