I really have a hard time comparing john mayer to jonny lang...Two different styles of singing and playing the guitar they're in leagues of their own..Mayer in my opinion can't even touch lang but meh opinions are like ass holes everyone has one.

I changed my mind about one thing, Mayer is very talented but I prefer Jonny Lang. He is a hardcore singer and guitarist. Mayer, I just respect for his ability to play guitar, What I'm trying to say is that I prefer Jonny Lang most. He is my fave along with SRV, Jeff Healey, and Eric Clapton.
John Mayer may be a gifted musician and singer but in NO WAY compares to Jonny Lang. Saw this kid way way back when he was like 12 or 13 on the tonight show, before he even put out his first album, and he burned up the stage even at that age. And he has only gotten better with time. Sorry, when it comes to making his gee-tar wail and delivering soulful blues vocals, compared to Jonny, John Mayer is an also-ran.
I was lucky to see Lang when he was 15 he was amazing, and had an amazing voice at his age, and just an amazing guitarist..Lang will always be known for his guitar and his soulful vocals, i concur with everything you say sir!
You probably haven't heard John Mayer's real guitar work, then. Look up his live performances here on Youtube, especially his work with the John Mayer Trio or from his Where the Light Is DVD. I love both John and Jonny. :)

John is a more technical player in my opinion. I think Jonny just plays what sounds good to him, he doesn't know what the heck he's playing, haha. I prefer Jonny's voice over John's. They both have different styles, so it's hard to compare.

I think it's a simple comparison.
Jonny Lang has tons of soul and swagger and is original.
John Mayer has tons of chicks and gutiars :)... and he does a great SRV impersination.

I really have a hard time comparing john mayer to jonny lang...Two different styles of singing and playing the guitar they're in leagues of their own..Mayer in my opinion can't even touch lang but meh opinions are like ass holes everyone has one.

i prefere jonny lang . his voice is so strong, and playing the guitarr. he is GOD, but they are both so talented

True, now I think about it. John Mayer and Jonny Lang are impossible to compare because they have way different styles. I changed my mind about one thing, Mayer is very talented but I prefer Jonny Lang. He is a hardcore singer and guitarist. Mayer, I just respect for his ability to play guitar, What I'm trying to say is that I prefer Jonny Lang most. He is my fave along with SRV, Jeff Healey, and Eric Clapton.

John Mayer may be a gifted musician and singer but in NO WAY compares to Jonny Lang. Saw this kid way way back when he was like 12 or 13 on the tonight show, before he even put out his first album, and he burned up the stage even at that age. And he has only gotten better with time. Sorry, when it comes to making his gee-tar wail and delivering soulful blues vocals, compared to Jonny, John Mayer is an also-ran.

I was lucky to see Lang when he was 15 he was amazing, and had an amazing voice at his age, and just an amazing guitarist..Lang will always be known for his guitar and his soulful vocals, i concur with everything you say sir!

You probably haven't heard John Mayer's real guitar work, then. Look up his live performances here on Youtube, especially his work with the John Mayer Trio or from his Where the Light Is DVD. I love both John and Jonny. :)

Jonny Lang is a great musician. Awesome guitar solo and awesome song in general. The best version I have heard. Better than the original recording.
