Hahaha, the dreaded "battery dying" bleep! Great footage mate, I'm glad we don't get fires that size around here too often. We just get your smoke as it drifts across the Tasman Sea, staining the sky brown and the sunsets red! What a beautiful place, @#$% I miss Aussie! And summer for that matter...
The fire in the video was no where near as big as the recent (January 09) fires. But yes, it seems we can't go a single summer without some kind of major fire breaking out here.
huh, taht was bloody scary, we went priority 1 from our base to pt lincoln and wen we arrived 4 hrs later it was chaos! ur guys did a fantastic job durin those weeks.

Thats the way of life here in Australia there will never be a summer where we dont escape without a big bushfire

does port lincoln often have big fires? the fire a few days ago looked a bit bigger i thought but there was just as much smoke
