i agree that people shouldn't get down on male belly dancers, but it originated as a celebration of women's bodies dude. i like that there are men doing it too, but i started out for women.

Not really. The costumes and sensuality associated with belly dancing only exists because that's the style that male belly dancers used. Female dancers, historically, just used dressier versions of their every day clothes.
