my god, I cried when I watched this, hopefully singaporean will realised soon that they have to fight and confront the government and not just to folllow blindly anymore. Dr Chee, i always respected JBJeyaratnam even till now in spirit. but i can see now that his fight will soon be materialised by the young singaporeans who realised that enough is enough.they want to be heard not oppressed.
Kudos to you Dr.Chee. U are 1 in a million. The world needs more people like yourself to fight injustices and tyranny. Unfortunately, Asian leaders are all tyrants and won't hesitate to lock up/bankrupt dissidents. This will take generations to change as Asian democracy (if we can call it democracy at all) is still very immature.
I like to think that chiam and low stepped out of their strongholds as a nod of respect to jb, after being once criticized as being "comfortable" with the ruling party. There is still hope for our country.
say what you want about JBJ, the fact is that he was the only one during that period who dared to take on LKY. He won't be spoken now in our history books but in years to come, when all is said and done and when the PAP is no longer in power, he will be remembered as the person who gave opposition hope in Singapore.
Dr Chee, you are simply inspiring.... and so was JBJ..... your labour of love will not be in vain..... change is coming, not in his lifetime, but I am sure it will happen in yours.
@oswald1973 The PAP trained Singaporeans to be stupid. Clever of them. The upcoming GE2011 will be the ultimate test of whether Singaporeans are still stupid.
singaporeans? pathetic? loyal? born-losers? no bola? bola hilang? which is which? or, all of the above? or, none of the above? or, some of the above? or, kiasu,kia si or boh hum? or totally boh hum,boh kwee boh jin?

Rest in peace, JB. We will be destroying indifference very soon

Another thing you can never say about JBJ - "He didn't love Singapore"
He would be proud to see how far the opposition has come 2 years after.

The problem is not PAP.... the problem is Singaporeans.... Singaporeans voted PAP into power and endorse them.

it's a pity tat the late Jeyaretnam spent such a huge chunk of his life struggling to create a less draconian Singapore;
while the very people that he worked so hard for, barely give two hoots about his sacrifices & lofty ideals.
this is indeed sad.... & so very tragic....
