You really should mount the motherboard on a galvanized metal plate (aluminium or steel), then connect a wire (standard PSU gauge) between a screw on the motherboard and the PSU casing.
If you don't, the motherboard (and everything mounted to it) will not be adequately grounded (remember: Earth is NOT the same as Ground). The result is that static electricity can build up inside the insulated casing... and things may start to break.
i really like the idea, love the see through effect its just that couldnt you sleeve the wiring or hide it somehow i dont like all the wires. but the psu looks so cool up at top.i seen people make psu transparent also, maybe do that also. thumbs up. good
what does everyone use for the windows (idk what theyre called) the parts of the case yo can seethrough put are protected wit some sort of covering... is it glass, plexiglass, plastic, or even just film?
Nice design. It is an interesting idea building it into a shelf. It has some benefits (looks cool, and very integrated into the desk) and drawbacks (you are tied to that desk). Seems like an idea you could sell to Ikea though lol. One thing seems out of place though, after all that work to make the case pretty, you should have painted the LED boards (power, HDD, etc) and their cables black. They seem very out of place. Otherwise looks pretty good.
i dont see the hype. its appears to be built into a shelf which seems to be a downside. cool lights and all but yeah. at least you were capable of doing something like this, most are not so props i guess.
i like how you integrated it into the desk.how much was the plexiglass?
