What I love about Deonna Ball is how she pulls more from her leads. She makes WCS much more lead/follow balanced. So many of the traditional leads are not as generous with partners unless its a routine. And her moves so BAM !!!
Deonna is so much more interesting to watch than most wcs dancers. She really feels the music and gives it her all without trying to always use 'sexy' as a tool. She is very sexy, yet her movement is raw and natural. I am tired of watching the 'trained' dancers move exactly alike.
i agree with both fnewson and swingislove she does have different body movement than most of the WCS followers like a melissa rutz or even patty vo which i think brings a little more flavor to the WCS scene but sometimes she gets so caught up in the music she rarely does this but she is sometimes a little off
Part 5: She is just the sweetest most adorable person to know and I feel that her spirit and sincerity is so genuine. I'm a fan and will support her through her dance career.
Oh and Natural beats out technique any day in my book. She can learn everything these trained dancers do but they damn for sure can't do what she does. You go Deonna... I'm a huge fan :-)
Part 4: I take it you haven't danced with her. My best friend said she has great connection and he can feel exactly when she's about to play and exactly when she is finished. Not only is she rythmical, she HEARS EVERYTHING in the music. I love her musical interpretation.

I don't think she could dance off beat to save her life. And "overdoes it" watch the video again and tell me that this dance wasn't perfect. She followed everything he led so...
No, you do not totally disagree with me. I said she was very rhythmical, but is thrown off beat at times. Look at her videos very carefully, and you will see what I'm talking about. But, she is good though. And, who said anything about her technique and leg lines? You obviously have some scrutiny yourself, but I was being pleasant. Furthermore, she has been dancing much longer than since 2004. Obviously, you misunderstood her conversation with you.
Part 2: The rest of these chicks have been technically trained for a thousand years and bore me to death because they have no personality and look like the next. Deonna goes to college full-time, works part-time and still manages to beat out the ones who do this everyday. Now if that isn't talent I don't know what is!! I couldn't believe it when she told me. Most of those pro's dropped out of college or have never been.
I totally disagree with you fnewson. I think she is absolutely amazing inside and out. I had the most enlightening conversation with her about a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea she just started dancing in 2004 (never taken any dance before then) and had her first west coast strictly/invitational in 2006!!!!
There's a difference between having rhythm and having good movement. Deonna is very rhythmical, although at times she overdoes it and is thrown off beat sometimes. But, she is good though.
