@cheesemond Don't be scared of falling! I went ice skating for my first time last year and the only reason I did bad was because I was afraid of falling. Everyone falls, and when you do, it doesnt hurt and no one notices because they're all concentrating on their selves.
That's definitely not her first time my first time I was holding onto the edge half the tine and the rest I was wasn't holding on but I was really close to the edge
@pogologjimjam my first time I jumped out onto the ice and had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM.... and I was really confused too..... I had never skated b4 and I told my friend I was worried I would fall and he told me it was easy and that he wasnt that good either. When I started skating I never lost my balance.... idk if watching hockey and other kids skate put magic on me or what.... but wow..... im pretty good for a beginner. I still cant stop though :P hopefully vids on here will help me out...

By the end of the public session i could do a shaky spiral, but a spiral. However, my pants were wet from falling so much and i had bruises on my knees. not even Michelle Kwan was this good her first time.You call once if you're really lucky, but this isn't your first time.

i have been skating and playing hockey since i was 3 . Just wear a jacket , its not Freezing but it is chilly if its an inside rink. and maybe gloves if you get cold easily. And DONT hold the sides, its will just throw your balance off and you will fall more .

wen i went first time i broke my leg coz my 2 legs started slipping into the middle splits i couldnt stop them. now i have always streched my splits b4 going ice skating p.s: i do gymnastics after the accident

You can't do free ice skating, you have to pay for admission and to rent skates. To get a 5 star coach (at my ice rink) it's $45 for 30 minutes. The cheapest skates you can get are about $225, plus paying $20 to get your blades sharpened.
Figure skating is one of the most expensive sports, nothing is free.
