Omg because they edit everything cool out? When luffy had the fight when he got sanji they replaced the spikes with frigging plungers. The voiced dont match the mouth movements and overall its just ridiculous sounding.

Yeah I won't hate on dubs because its hard to get the exact original script when you match the mouth movements but One Piece dub fails for other reasons. They edited out a lot of blood and at times when someone would shoot a gun it would be replaced by a weird punching glove spring propelled gun out of a bugs bunny cartoon or something. Its ridiculous.

people hate dubs for different reasons like:

1. It really is a poorly dubbed anime.

2. It supposedly makes you a more authentic otaku to only love the original.

3. Other people hate it and the person wants to fit in.

4. They honestly don't like the certain dub even if its good or bad.

I find when I watch and anime in english and I think the VA is actually decent, pretty good or great....and see a bunch of people flaming it because its not as good as some japanese VA ...its so lame.

people are complaining about the 4kids dubs because there are times when they take out crucial parts of the plot or character development because there is too much blood or violence for the market they are going for (which is MUCH younger than what the japanese version markets the anime at)

there are also times in the dubbed version where, because of the extremely excessive amount of editing done, the episode just makes no sense
