The slaves were purchased from black slave owners (who still exist today, but we're not gonna talk about that now, are we??) who sold them to highest bidders (who happened to be Europeans); it was the business at the time! its not an excuse obviously, but that was just how things were .. simple as that!

I totally agree, I don't use any of those words anyway where i grew up they don't mean anything. That does not mean I'd use them, especially as you've said you don't like them.
If white people said don't use them and SOME carried on using it, I'd say they were as stupid as SOME of the black people who say N like its kul... please tell me you understand where I'm coming from...? (with all of it not just this comment)

Theres the point, did you see where certain comedians were using the word...? Thats the point the video is making, nothing about white people calling names.
AS I said above it's not telling whites in the usa not to say it no one should wherever their from, it isn't favored in the UK either.
And why would you want to use it, why do people fight for the use of derogatory words? No person should be subjected to name calling.

Nah I didn't mean white people don't get called ugly names, I meant that its not all people who think they're better then others, or stupid enough to call people names.
i.e. I'd never call a person out on the fact they are a certain colour or whatever, not true for all peole, lets put them in the same box and not who they identify with.

The past is very evident today. Plz don't try and trivialize the negative history of black people, because it is so significant and painful. Imagine that it weren't black people, imagine it was a group of people from a specific town, religion or family. Take the holocaust for example... people can't help but remember their past, if we neglect a past so significant what would that say about them?
I'm not having a go at you, just want you to understand why its so important to remember such things.

TO correct your point, no black people don't call you ugly names. Some black people call others ugly names, in the same way some, ignorant might i add, people call black people ugly names. Don't look at people from a certain demographic as holding the same prejudices as each other, take individuals as they are. Love your neighbor, their is no limit on who your neighbor is, thats what we should live by, don't look at the persons outward appearance but the content of their character.

I have to ask, did you actually understand the message of this video? There are black people also using this word like it's nothing and a lot of black people, as well as others, have a problem with them doing this, as well as other races calling black people 'the N word'. The word clearly is a insult, look at the video and again and see. 'every black person murdered by lynching was called Nigger first.' No matter the 'true' roots of the word, you cannot deny there is a stigma attached to it now.

Very good video. thank you. it´s exactly what I feel everyone I see someone calling himself by this ugly word. I´ll never understand it, maybe I´m an old-fashioned European :-) but for me it is and will always be an insult.

Thanks for uploading this. It has been added to my favorites. Many people still don't realize what this word was used for. They believe Nigger is the evil word and Nigga is the better word. Its like the word Fuck. Whether spelled fucc, fuk, phuck, or however some many ways it can be spelled, it is still the same word. This deception has to stop. We need to stop using this word.

Thank god I don't live in the usa.If you're a minority of any kind whether racially or religious you'll suffer some kind of discrimination in the usa.I'm Irish and the Irish are percieved to be drunk,stupied and to be fighting all the time in the usa.thats the steriotype.

im black and i have nothing against irish people or anybody of any ethnic background. i live in the usa so please dont put everyone in the same subject.very good video i am doind a powerpoint presentation on the N word and why we shouldnt use it and im showing it to everyone in my job. im 15 going on sixteen and videos like these can help to make a change on this earth
