the set looks really good,

i saw hairspray in london and the set was a bit of a let down!

Actually, Hairspray London's set differs slightly from the original Broadway one. For the production in New York, the Dynamites poster was a separate piece from the two main Baltimore "street" pieces, incorporated into an entirely different facade, and it stayed to the right of the stage during Good Morning Baltimore. In London, the two street pieces include the Dynamites poster on the right one, most likely because of stage size restrictions and mirroring the set of the national tours.

@broadwayskip The scaled down set in london had nothing to do with the tours, simply that the theatres wings are tiny and there is no space behind the stage, the tour does the same because for obvious touring reasons.

I belive they use the same sets.

Look the same to when I went to see it in London compared to the Video.
