thanks you so much for all your videos, you don't know how much it has help me not only as guitarist but a person as well, i learnt to be more open minded about writing songs and u r an inspiration and I will be famous one day and thank you, remember the name: Jonathan Milanes :D Godbless you!
i have been trying to "find" alternate tunings by ear. I have discovered that i primarily love D and Dm but i have found a way to get a Dm or D by bringing the (high) e string UP to D. I put a lot of stress on my strings and i break my E alot - but usually it is when i tune down too fast it slips then snaps. I have learned to be very careful. Putting the whole tuning on the high end makes it just sing, I love it.
Thank you so very much! I do have a question for you though. Maybe you can help me find what tuning is Neil Young using in "Don't let it bring you down" ? I tried a few but just cant find it. I think you may have helped me tho by that "half step down tuning" befor an alternate. IDK? thank you again.
really really good lesson. i think you and i are on the same level mate. iv been playing in open tunings for a while now and like you say the skys the limit with the diferent sounds you can get.
i look forward to some more advanced lessons,
btw if you get a chance check out thomas leeb, i think you will like his stuff very much!
thanks broo

okay since no one else pointed it out he forgot one that is really common with the G string. leave it as a G and try DADGAd tunning.

@prototypep4 good call. Very cool tuning. For Pink Floyd fans; "Poles Apart" from the 1994 album Division Bell uses the DADGAD tuning.
