Whenever I listen to music like this,

whenever I watch videos of lovely spots of true human art,

I feel sad that many of the precious teachings,

many of the ancient virtues,

seem to be forgotten in our hectic and flashy world.

Well, its on you, to decide if you live the life of the "hectic and flashy world" or if you step out of that.

A "hectic and flashy world" has always existed - and the world of peace in God as the opposite to that. Sure, the hectics are increasing, thats in the nature of creation.

God wants us to decide, which life we live. He gives us choice and the freedom to decide ourselves.

@lojundolo Yup, just Mundi. MUNDIS whould mean more than one world. I think its just a link in pronuciation like French, otherwise this is one of the most beautiful recitations of this prayer on youtube :)

als Student habe ich es nur bis Bayreuth zwecks "Sightseeing" geschafft. Ansonsten habe ich für's Jura-Ex. "gepaukt" u. mir von fränk. Studienfreunden die Schönheiten Coburgs u. Ansbachs schildern lassen. Da ich mich in Erlangen wohl gefühlt habe, ist mein Ausdruck "lokale Kultur" nicht abwertend, sondern achtungsvoll im Sinne von "bodenständig" gemeint. Den inflationären Ausdruck "Weltkulturerbe" kann ich nicht mehr hören. Schöne Grüsse, Volker

ich hab deinen Kommi schon richtig verstanden gehabt. Der Ausdruck mit der lokalen Kultur hat mir so gefallen, dass ich einfach was zu schreiben musste.

Erlangen ist sicher ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen, auch wenn der Wandel zu immer schneller und unpersönlicher auch vor Franken und Erlangen nicht halt macht.

Da sind all die Oasen der Stille, wie es der Maria Hilf Berg in Amberg ist, nötig und wohltuend

danke für Deine Antwort. Ich bin beruhigt, dass mein Ausdruck nicht missverstanden worden ist. Nichts liegt mir ferner, als irgendjemand zu kränken. Hatte in meinem Beruf lange genug damit zu tun u. Streithähne wieder zur Vernunft zu bringen.

Erlangen habe ich vor Jahren nochmals besucht, fand nur den Schlosspark wie zu "meiner" Zeit u. war über die Veränderungen glücklicherweise durch eine Bekannte vorgewarnt! Dir alles Gute! Volker

ich vermute mal, du hast Erlangen in einer Zeit gekannt, die lange vor der Zeit liegt, als ich das erste Mal hingekommen bin.

Was mir gefällt ist deine auffassung von der Juristerei, wenn du schreibst vom "Streithähne wieder zur Vernunft bringen".

Gut und wichtig, wenn es Juristen gab und gibt, für die dies im Vordergrund steht.

das Schöne an YouTube: Der gelegentliche Kontakt zu netten u. int. Menschen. Selbst in meinem Job als Jugendstaatsanwalt - hat mir bis zum 65. Riesen-Spaß gemacht - überwogen diese Zeitgenossen, u. waren "hoffnungslose" Fälle - wie sonst auch - die Ausnahme! - Habe 1964 in E. mein 1. Ex. gemacht u. hatte keine Probleme, dort als "Nordlicht" zurecht zu kommen. Schützt bestens vor Vorurteilen! Ich werde Dich abonnieren. Mach's gut! Volker

Ich denk mal, die grassierende Unmenschlichkeit ist vor allem ein Problem des 21 Jahrhunderts. Das wird noch extreme Formen annehmen.

Zu Recht: Denn ich mag jeden interessanten Menschen, ob 20 o. fast 100 wie mein Klassenlehrer. Ah .. the Gregorian Chants. I use to listen to a 30 minute tape of this everyday .. for years. No specific religious reason. Just because it is beautiful. Thank you.
