Wow! A recording of Herbert L. Clarke (1867-1945) talking about Frank Simon (1889-1967). Simon took over from Clarke as first chair and solo cornetist with Sousa's Band in 1917.

I guess you have to be a "'golden age of concert bands" aficionado to appreciate this recording. It's almost like a Civil war buff listening to Lincoln speak to one of his cronies. When/where was this recording made?

Amazing..Thanks...I studies for many Years with Claude Gordon...He Studied for over 10 Years with Clarke...He told me many Stories of Herbert, but this is the First time I have heard his Voice..Thanks.
