  • Wow! A recording of Herbert L. Clarke (1867-1945) talking about Frank Simon (1889-1967). Simon took over from Clarke as first chair and solo cornetist with Sousa's Band in 1917.

    I guess you have to be a "'golden age of concert bands" aficionado to appreciate this recording. It's almost like a Civil war buff listening to Lincoln speak to one of his cronies. When/where was this recording made?

  • Have you ever though of optimizing it. You can get it placed way up on youtube using one of those optimization services. I use tubeplays dotcom. They have been very nice to me and gave me awesone discounts.

  • Amazing..Thanks...I studies for many Years with Claude Gordon...He Studied for over 10 Years with Clarke...He told me many Stories of Herbert, but this is the First time I have heard his Voice..Thanks.
