  • thank you for posting this. (and thank you Ms. Farrell wherever you are).

  • oh if only we could live those days again

  • Saw her at Ravinia. Fabulous!

  • Her last name was FarreLL, not Farrel.

  • A beautiful talent!

  • This is sort of her "Bluebird of Happiness."

  • FANTASTIC

    BRAVA!

  • She is a star! Bravo! Bravo!

  • This song brings back memories. I heard her regularly on radio. She was unique in so many ways.

  • Never heard this song before. Sounds like it's from an operetta.

I heard Farrell in Cavalleria w/ Franco Corelli in the 60s. An unforgettable performance.

Also saw her in a concert. She forgot the words to Pace, pace Mio Dio. The accompanist gave her a cue.

Went backstage after the concert. She came bustling out of the dressing room with the piano player hurrying after her to zip up her dress.

Her recordings do not really show the size of her dramatic soprano.

    Tx 4 posting.

  • @rockgor Listen to Johann Strauss II's piece "Vienna Waltz". The music is nearly identical.

  • @karate150

Well, so it is. Our old friend "The Vienna Waltz". I'll have to revisit the 1930s movie "The

    Great Waltz".

The soprano who starred in it was living in Los Angeles in the 1980s. One of my friends went

to see the film with her then. She sang along w/ the picture.

  • Beautiful. Thank you for posting!

  • My darling, Eileen. What a singer!
