OMG that Westie cut is atrocious!!! It's a WESTIE not a Schnauzer! Some of these groomers need to concentrate on the breed standard and learn how to cut accordingly

Okay I have absolutely no idea why you people think that is a schnauzer head. You shave schnauzers ears, shave their cheeks, leave very defined sharp eyebrows AND a leave a square shaped beard. WHY would you compare that to what this guy just did? To me all it looks like he did was shape the face a little more sharply and put some hairspray on the ears to make it stick up.

But anyways, I think he did a nice job, sure it's a bit more elongated then a typical Westie face. But it was probably what the client wanted. He didn't destroy the coat or harm the dog in anyway, so really, is it THAT much of a travisty?

I don't see how everyone thinks this is a Schnauzer cut. Schnauzers have split eyebrows, their ears are completely shaved and trimmed to the leather, and the side top of their head/sides of their face are shaved short too. MOST Westies these days are not super quality bred, so they don't have the proper face build to make it the nice, round Westie face like the Cesar dog food packages show. At least the Westies we see on a regular basis.

Not that I liked the cut on the westie, but chances are that it was the owner that requested it. I once met a lady who told her groomer to shave down her pug...so yeah, I would totally believe that he was just following orders. Not the wisest idea to feature that dog though.

I Must Admit..He Did Cut The Westie Just Like A Schnauzer But In My Opinion He Did Do A Wonderful Job On That Westie. And Some Westies Do Have That Hair Cut But He Did A Wonderful Job.

Believe me, we're not being catty.. It does matter that dogs are groomed properly. Particulary, if their breed (like the westie) is prone to skin irritations and allergies from the sun. I'm not a professional groomer but i care enough about my dog to learn these basic facts before i go clipper crazy. I'm sure this guy charges insane prices just to screw up other peoples dogs ..

true westie head does not look like that, and all that love has only spoilt an ok-looking westie to something u can not identify as a westie- heads and legs should be handstripped, if u are lazy enough not to handstrip the whole dog...

He may have sixteen yrs. experience but made a mess of this Westie. First the cut is a Schnauzer cut as has been stated and he should be stripping terrier coats, not clipping. Total bushleague here, just sad because the little westie looked like it had a decent coat and could have been cute...

the tail is too furry, and he has too much fur on the face and this is just such a shallow job on this one! :( sorry dude, but your 16 years seems like nothing. the girl that does the hair of my westie is like 25 years old, and this dude is 10 years older than her, and she still does a far better job!! sry but its true :(
