White tigers are gorgeous, but at what price? White tigers are a result of rampant inbreeding in captivity. This inbreeding causes them to have an 80% mortality rate and the ones that survive to have birth defects, mental impairments, etc. In short: creating white tigers is unnecessary, inhumane, and is a sick practice that should be boycotted at all costs. Don´t go to places that continue to breed or exploit these animals.

But if you look into it, inbreeding is necessary. It's too much for me to explain here, just because it's a lot information I'd have to tell you, but since the gene is DOUBLE recessive and there is only one line of white tigers used (another died out) inbreeding MUST occur to make the gene show. I hope that explains it all right =)

aww bless them so cute. cachanga if they dont get breed wont they die out. if they r killing them cause of birth defects that is wrong, we our who we our, and if the face dont fit, tuff sh!t. do they get killed at birth or die them selve?

White tigers shouldn't be bred you may not know this, but all white tigers are inbred. Inbreeding has to take place to make the gene show, and this results in major deformities. The deformed cubs are slaughtered. And 80% die at birth from defects. WHITE TIGER BREEDING IS CRUEL

NO the white genes are resesive so if both parents are that gene that makes a white tiger. there is no inbreeding

But there is only one line, and another line is possibly (there is speculation about this). If you research genetics then they have to be at least partially inbred. It's really sad, and the gene is DOUBLE recessive which makes inbreeding even more necessary =(
