@SirenVivian Actually no sonic unleashed and sonic colors have similar gameplay but each has its own style to it. Unleashed is waaayyyy faster than colors, and colors has more platforming, and is more linear 3d sections.

You know, one new thing that SEGA's added relatively recently, that I'm sad wasn't really in Generations: A main theme, and an orchestral remake of said theme. This is awesome. Reach for the Stars was pretty damn good. Solaris Phase 2 was mindblowing.

I liked Unleashed quite a bit (day and night levels alike, and I had the Wii version so I didn't have to deal with the "hub city" idiocy), but Generations absolutely blew my mind with rapid, flowing gameplay, awesome soundtrack remakes, and nuclear levels of nostalgia.
For the record, in Generations, Rooftop Run is my favorite.

@97Exodia Lol, no way mate. To you, maybe, but to me and others it kinda felt like a game that had a good concept but was ruined due to the majority of the game being played as a Werehog and the rest being extremely linear. It was a step forward, though.
Although this game doesn't have one of the largest fan-bases, this game DID actually have the best Storyline for any Sonic game from Sonic Heroes to Generations.

The end of a story is one of the most key points you take into account with saying that a story is good or bad, not caring about the end, is disregarding the story, because the end should be the fulfillment of the preceding story, if you don't care about the end, you don't care about the several hours you've put into the game, and all your time has been wasted.

you all know Shadow is the one that kills Sonic later on i dont know the whole reason but Shadow is immortal so he cant die but he can get beat up and Shadow in the Sonic the HedgeHog the game you see on the Cross forcefield for eternity.
As much as I love these epic orchestrated versions of the theme song playing during the Final Boss, I miss the days when Crush 40 played the theme songs and they played during the Final Boss. Open Your Heart, Live And Learn, What I'm Made Of, I Am (All of Me), these songs make you feel invincible when you hear them.
@thetiedyed well the creator of unleashed said that this wasnt the last we'd see the werehog. he'll return eventually. watch Hellfirecomms playthrough of unleashed. FTA (Fastest Thing Alive) said it. It was during their playthrough of Empire City night.
Poor Sonic... He's been going downhill since Sonic 2006... At least the handheld Sonic games were great. Personally, I think Unleashed was a halfway start of Sonic becoming a great gaming charater again. Then along came Colors and Generations. Now we have to wait for Sonic Dimensions for the Wii U, and see how that goes... Long live Sonic. :)
@Sawtje2 Supposedly Dimensions is rumored to be the next 3D Sonic game. The concept is similar to Generations but it's more wicked. Instead of past self Sonic we get Sonics with split personalities, evil Sonic friends and Eggman that will actually help you for good intentions.

Its a real shame Sega went and started axing thier "low rated" Sonic titles, recently. Yes, Colors and Generations were great, and I hope they can keep up to their "NO SONIC UNDER 80% METACRITIC" promise. But I feel like if Sonic 2K6 never happened, they wouldn't be doing this.
I just hope they don't go getting bankrupt doing demolition on Unleashed and a bunch of others. Generations was my first 3D Sonic game, but I find it hard to believe that was the ONLY good 3D Sonic since Adventure.

@jedimasterpickle3 Sonic 06, is very underrated, but there are still things that are just NOT good, like the amount of glitches, the model of Sonic (they tried to make him too human), the model of Eggman, and Prince Elise, she had romantic moments with a hedgehog!! that's just WRONG, for Sonic.
@nicomg1295 I agree that Sonic 06 had many flaws, but the models? The only differences I've noticed are getting a voice, height, fur color. Sonic's model hasn't really changed since 06. At least not that I've noticed. Eggman I can understand. He's quite different in that game than any other Sonic game. I personally don't mind, but to each his own. And Elise and Sonic? That's no worse than any classic Princess story where the Princess inevitably kisses a frog. Think about that.
@nicomg1295 Let me rephrase what I was talking about the models: The only difference between the physical model of Sonic between 06 and say, Shadow the Hedgehog (I think that was the last main game before than) is the color of Sonic's blue fur. It got lighter. That's the only difference I've noticed. So what exactly didn't you like about the model?
@jedimasterpickle3 he is too tall, and skinny, just put an image of Sonic in 06 near Sonic in Unleashed, you can see the differences. However in the CG cutscenes he looks the same. the model of unleashed and generations looks more friendly, and suits sonic better. I think you are right about the princess thing, but I dunno, i think is just a little weird.
@nicomg1295 In Unleashed and Generations, Sonic is having more fun than in 06, so that's my take on that difference. As for height, has it really significantly changed since '99? As for how round Sonic's stomach is, again, to each his own. There's really nothing to argue about there. As for Elise+Sonic, Disney released "The Princess and the Frog" a couple years ago (I think). That movie plays to the Princess-kisses-a-frog-who-turns-into-a-prince theme. In both cases the princess is a savior

His spikes are too long in 06, they go down. In Unleashed they are shorter and are more (be mature and dont laugh at this) "erected". and i think you already mentioned this, but the torso is more like a ball in unleashed.

Colors was AMAZING. I loved having Eggman as final boss.

you all know Shadow is the one that kills Sonic later on i dont know the whole reason but Shadow is immortal so he cant die but he can get beat up and Shadow in the Sonic the HedgeHog the game you see on the Cross forcefield for eternity.

As much as I love these epic orchestrated versions of the theme song playing during the Final Boss, I miss the days when Crush 40 played the theme songs and they played during the Final Boss. Open Your Heart, Live And Learn, What I'm Made Of, I Am (All of Me), these songs make you feel invincible when you hear them.

@thetiedyed well the creator of unleashed said that this wasnt the last we'd see the werehog. he'll return eventually. watch Hellfirecomms playthrough of unleashed. FTA (Fastest Thing Alive) said it. It was during their playthrough of Empire City night.

Poor Sonic... He's been going downhill since Sonic 2006... At least the handheld Sonic games were great. Personally, I think Unleashed was a halfway start of Sonic becoming a great gaming charater again. Then along came Colors and Generations. Now we have to wait for Sonic Dimensions for the Wii U, and see how that goes... Long live Sonic. :)

I personally think the opposite way.
I find Sonic 06 very enjoyable (Exept for Silver's Dusty Desert level!)
Sonic Unleashed was AMAZING (Best Sonic game for me!)
But Sonic Colours.. was bland and boring. Bah.
Generations was okay I guess. I only liked the modern stages.
But.. what is Dimensions?!

@Sawtje2 Supposedly Dimensions is rumored to be the next 3D Sonic game. The concept is similar to Generations but it's more wicked. Instead of past self Sonic we get Sonics with split personalities, evil Sonic friends and Eggman that will actually help you for good intentions.

Shadow: ugh horrible games dislikes 15 times. Shadow: i mean really and i thought 06 was horrible then again sonic was high in sonic colors. and now a game that sonic turns into a maniac in. @shadowrockz07 The werehog was stupid why shouldn't people hate it/ It was just a cheesy gymic that had nothing to do with Sonic. That and the fact it had RPG elements like having to spent points just to increase Sonic's speed. The game was just a failure.

Its a real shame Sega went and started axing thier "low rated" Sonic titles, recently. Yes, Colors and Generations were great, and I hope they can keep up to their "NO SONIC UNDER 80% METACRITIC" promise. But I feel like if Sonic 2K6 never happened, they wouldn't be doing this.
I just hope they don't go getting bankrupt doing demolition on Unleashed and a bunch of others. Generations was my first 3D Sonic game, but I find it hard to believe that was the ONLY good 3D Sonic since Adventure.

@jedimasterpickle3 Sonic 06, is very underrated, but there are still things that are just NOT good, like the amount of glitches, the model of Sonic (they tried to make him too human), the model of Eggman, and Prince Elise, she had romantic moments with a hedgehog!! that's just WRONG, for Sonic.

@nicomg1295 I agree that Sonic 06 had many flaws, but the models? The only differences I've noticed are getting a voice, height, fur color. Sonic's model hasn't really changed since 06. At least not that I've noticed. Eggman I can understand. He's quite different in that game than any other Sonic game. I personally don't mind, but to each his own. And Elise and Sonic? That's no worse than any classic Princess story where the Princess inevitably kisses a frog. Think about that.

@nicomg1295 Let me rephrase what I was talking about the models: The only difference between the physical model of Sonic between 06 and say, Shadow the Hedgehog (I think that was the last main game before than) is the color of Sonic's blue fur. It got lighter. That's the only difference I've noticed. So what exactly didn't you like about the model?

@jedimasterpickle3 he is too tall, and skinny, just put an image of Sonic in 06 near Sonic in Unleashed, you can see the differences. However in the CG cutscenes he looks the same. the model of unleashed and generations looks more friendly, and suits sonic better. I think you are right about the princess thing, but I dunno, i think is just a little weird.

@nicomg1295 In Unleashed and Generations, Sonic is having more fun than in 06, so that's my take on that difference. As for height, has it really significantly changed since '99? As for how round Sonic's stomach is, again, to each his own. There's really nothing to argue about there. As for Elise+Sonic, Disney released "The Princess and the Frog" a couple years ago (I think). That movie plays to the Princess-kisses-a-frog-who-turns-into-a-prince theme. In both cases the princess is a savior

@jedimasterpickle3 actually that movie was the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned the princess/frog thing. the thing is, Sonic from 06 looks like more "human". His spikes are too long in 06, they go down. In Unleashed they are shorter and are more (be mature and dont laugh at this) "erected". and i think you already mentioned this, but the torso is more like a ball in unleashed.
