  • Always wanted to attend one of Crispin's mythology panels, but live too far away at the moment, so it was really a pleasure to him talking in depth here.

A very engaging, affectionate, open-minded person - everything I expected from him. Yet what really drew me in was the sense of someone who has a passion for what he's talking about, being both a friend and a teacher at the same time; and that's not an easy thing to do.

Great video. Many thanks for uploading it.

  • There are very few true intellectuals and scholars of whom I am aware. This man is one of them, and for that I am eternally grateful. As an aspiring writer, voice actor, and a general consumer of all modes of entertainment, I have learned more than I ever could on my own. And kudos to you, Mr. Bagnell, you were very enjoyable and engaging to hear as well.

  • @FromNowheresville Thanks! Appreciate it. And I completely agree, Crispin is pretty rad.

  • This was brilliant. I have to say not a moment wasted watching this. I enjoyed it tremendously, and it is great to hear Crispin talk more about Mythology and all that jazz that one can rarely see on panels on youtube. If I lived in the states I would attend his classes. Pretty much nailed it about what was odd for me about Harry Potter and Battlestar, I questioned a lot of things in both these shows, more HP however. Once again, I thank you uploading. Very enjoyable. ^.^

  • @laevomachine Crispin has this beautiful way of articulating and expressing what would be otherwise just a vague feeling. It's fantastic to watch. Thanks for checking it out!

  • Absolutely fantastic, it must be wonderful to have that kind of knowledge.I will make it my goal to achieve that level of knowledge because it's wonderful to hear about and I imagine even more wondeful when you have obtained the knowledge in it's entirety and can truly admire it.

  • @GamerSam13 I was so lucky to get the opportunity to speak with him. Crispin really is a class act.

  • Seriously why does this have so few views or likes? I suppose that it's because Crispin isn't being used a human jukebox and spouting off random lines instead of having an intriguing and intelligent conversation for once. I love anime fans, but many of them can be too childish for my taste.

  • @Sajirah I'm baffled too! Not like my channel is super popular or anything, but Crispin is fantastic to listen to and learn from.

  • @Sajirah

It's an interesting point you bring up, because Crispin is awesome to listen to; warm and engaging all at the same time.

However, at least from my experience, there really aren't that many fans that seek a deeper understanding of the concepts (mythological, cosmological, etc) behind anime - which is what Crispin talks about. Now that has no bearing on him personally, because he still has tons of fans who adore him.

  • @Sajirah

But, also, I think what's important is that you don't see too many other VAs get into said concepts, at least not on the level that Crispin does.

I believe if it were more widely engaging, more well-known names giving a voice to it, things might change. But as things stands right now, you have to seek it out, rather than vice-versa.

  • Fantastic. Came across this after having read Patient Zero - how appropriate! Great discussion. Thanks so much for uploading!

  • @OkamiKasai Oh man! Patient Zero was a super fun pulp novel! Hard hitting cop drama in the middle of an outbreak. Effing rad.

  • NIce, Love every minute of it.

  • @hellsingevil1 glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to shoot!

  • I don't know, I think "Deadliest Warrior" did a good job with my concept of Vampires vs Zombies. XD

But yeah, nice discussion to watch and now I have even a deeper understanding of Freeman than I did before and that's what I like about an actor.

  • @NeumanProductions Ah! I haven't see that deadliest warrior yet!

  • Thanks very much for recording this. Fascinating stuff.

  • @ONVPodcast You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
