71voices.org is a new in-development ezine for the Bangladeshi diaspora. We would like to invite you to contribute to our website but we cannot locate your email address on your . If you are interested, please add us a contact and we will message you details about the ways in which you can contribute to a brand new, global conversation on Bangladesh.
@71voicesofbangladesh Are you talking about the website you mentioned here. I visited the website. I did not understand the language at all. What is it about?
@BangladeshiFriend The website is currently under construction. The content you saw on it is automatically generated by a software to fill space as we finish the design - it doesn't mean anything. I apologize for not mentioning this to you earlier.
The website will be in English but we simultaneously hope to support Bangla script. At the moment, we are requesting authors to submit articles to us in English. Hope this helps!
@BangladeshiFriend 71voices.org gives Bangladeshis around the world a platform to share their experiences, dreams - and their advice - with future generations. We are requesting authors to write an inspiring article on a topic of their choosing in 1000-3000 words. We hope to frequently publish articles that the Bangladeshi diaspora will find informative and helpful. Please let us know if you are interested!
@MrBdouche Yah, I agree with BangladeshiFriend. As for your question who gets to draw the line, it is the collective value of the Bangladeshi people that dictates what is permissible and what is not. If we treat the scandals as the norm, sooner or later it will become the norm due to desensitization.
@BangladeshiFriend Depends which part of BC you're in. I'm from Vancouver. Here it only snows once or twice a year. We've already had some snow. If you go north or even west of BC, it snows a lot.
So now you are totally judging them. How do you do that? And how far is going to be consider to be ok? Who gets to draw the line? Who gets to decide this person is ok and that person is not? And most of all, why would you let a person's personal life affect his/her work? Whatever he/she did, that has nothing to do that said person's performance. And at the end, I just want to let you know that media is a sector where you can try all you want, but controversies WILL be there.
This is totally wrong. I dont know if you noticed, but the world is getting smaller day by day. And things change....everything. What was not accepted before, is now being accepted and the rate is getting faster and faster. And do you really think that there wasnt anything going on before for the people in the movie industry? These so called "scandals" have always been there, the only difference is that now it spreaded in the television now. And now people are lot more lenient and thats that.
