Oh, man, that was so awesome. I used to love watching Y&R when I was home sick from school, so just hearing that theme music brought it all back. Too cool.
fuggin awesome. funny as hell, and a technical triumph done with no time and little budget. I really love the many layers of your acting...and you put it over the top soap style with the egos overacting.
what the hell is up with this wisehed guy? stop typing in haiku's and lighten up buddy.
Thanks - I actually like the wisehead guy. It reminds me of talk radio. I've had these exact debates with people who were certain I should go into music. People always feel strongly about THEIR passion, and when they see you excel in it - they're even more passionate about you NOT letting it go. I consider it flattering honestly...
Do what your heart tells you....but when your stomach starts growling listen to it also..Why allow your heart to lead your head...both are needed...good luck anyway..a true fan. Dr. G.
It makes no different what country or religion I am..I am a human and see the folly of all war....We in the west did not go to Iran, Irag and decide to kill innocent people ....They decided to murder indisciminately, Muslim, Jew, Christian, Bhuddist, ..I see in the political humour of Kontras work (even though I understand the tongue and cheek of it)..that it creates debate instead of indifference....The kids in the 60s stopped the war in Viet Nam....I was there ...I saw it.
Wrong again...because the old war horse is causing so much grief in the U.S. and in the mid-East... If you can not satire war...you have to live it or worse...die in it G'd forbid...I would rather laugh than cry.
You are missing the point...I am not suggesting that this piece be political....I am asking the author of this piece to do political stuff....like his "Let's Bomb Iran" piece..The problem dear former host of the airwaves...it seems politcally incorrect to be criticizing anything to do with war in general..That is the real tradegy.
I'm not sure what country you're in (and I'm saying this sincerely) but here in the states, it is far more politically incorrect to admit to supporting the invasion of Iraq. So much so that the debate has moved to "What to do now, since it was such a blunder".
Politics the lifeblood of your network....50 years ago..News made up your network...it was the mainstream of why you have a network today...Ask Walter Konkrite...The Today Show was NBC and was total news in the morning with light entertainment...Politics is what made the Network or you would not have a job if you do work for CBS...so lol to you...Every successful show on tv has some politcal overtone to it...Take Saturday Night Live....Jay Leno....etc. etc. etc. I rest my case dude.
You're dealing with an ex-radio talk show host so I'm certainly gonna take the debate carrot. :-) The bottom line is The Egos cannot be political at this juncture. If they were a sit-com believe me, I'd have full freedom. Because this is in conjunction with CBS News, I cannot show any political bias. Unlike FOX News, we have to remain impartial while on their NEWS airwaves. So whether it's good for me or not - I either abide by those rules or stop working for CBS.
Also, the political things I did were protest songs: Freedom Hate, Leaderless State, We Walk Today, Let's Bomb Iran - these were at a time when the majority thought the war was a good idea. They needed to be said, and my heart told me to say them. Now? It's beating a dead horse. Other than my best friend Marty (lol), who doesn't think the war is the biggest foreign policy blunder in the history of the United States?
In conclusion, The mainstream has shifted and the need has lessened. I can't make up that yearning because it's "good for my career". I follow my heart. That's why Leaderless State was so powerful. Right now my heart tells me that the video on this page is extremely special. My heart says that it's leading to something huge and I will follow that.
I am begging you....you are brilliant but your work is just a little ahead of your target audience...although you are reaching in all directions...Just try some political stuff this year....the election year..Your are almost there...I can feel it...Just one killer comp. on the war, Bush etc. The time has never been more right. Dr. George. good luck
LOL - Dude, I work for CBS. These shows are my job. They're completely seperate from the political stuff. And to say writing/directing/acting/editing these shows by myself is time consuming is to say the least. ;-)
