Watch the video again. Jansen is chasing him down from 330 feet until his motor lets go near top end. Still runs a 6.2 with a botched launch and an early shut off.

What the fuck are you blind? It's no myth that the turbo pro mods always have the highest top speeds on average. If you don't believe me, watch Mike Moran smoking Billy Harper's Nitrous car in Vegas.

From 330 feet to 1000 feet the turbo car was closing. You'd have to be an idiot (or you) to not see it.

Flex you say he was running him down? Top speed is what allows you to run someone down at the top end...252 vs 209 is not running someone down

Do you not know anything about drag racing? He was catching him while ON THE THROTTLE. He obviously hurt the motor and was off the throttle by 1000 feet, thus coasting thru the last 320 feet and still went thru the traps at 209 mph. Had he stayed with it the whole way, he would've likely had the same mph.

Ever wonder how a Top Fuel car goes 4.60 @ 275? It's called shutting off. The same run would've been a 4.50 @ 320 keeping your foot in it. These cars slow very quickly letting off at speed.

well his engine busted at like 1100 feet so the time and speed wouldn't have been that much better..

You obviously have never driven a car this fast. Letting off the throttle at that speed has a huge effect. Even an aerodynamic car is pushing a huge amount of air at that rate. Ever wonder why an IHRA top fuel dragster will run a 4.9 @ 275 shutting off at 1000 feet like the NHRA does? Had they kept their foot in it, that would be a 4.6 @ 315....

It's all relative of course. A pro mod isn't going 320 mph like a fuel car, but the same effect occurs, just not as severe.

I'm just trying to explain that in a drag car such as this, blowing a motor causes a HUGE reduction in trap speed.

Well actually it's because they accelerate at such a fast speed so within that other 220 or so feet, they probably accelerate another 20-35 mph in that distance. That, plus the aerodynamic drag already against the car and it really drops the trap down.

@drumguy1960 I've never agreed w/ Flexfuel on anything except this, you can see Jensen make a pretty good charge between the 1/8 and 1000ft mark until something goes wrong.
