Cronin also had drug problems and noone threw him out of the band. Neal Doughty had drinking problems and had a nervous breakdown and stayed. I heard it was regarding musical direction, which was always a source of conflict for KC and Gary. Noone knows what really happened exept the two of them. It's a shame the way it went downhill. I don't think they will ever reconcile after all this time though.

Kevin Cronin is a cool guy. He saved REO, is an extremely talented musician and the kind of guy who doesn't put himself above the fans. Plus he has a sense of humor. Like it or not the band still rocks and the ballads, hell I love them too. These songs have been the soundtrack to a lot of good times. You see, like it or not, I'm a true fan.

I saw REO the other night, and wasn't a big fan of them until then! Kronin had more energy than my 5 year old and Dave Amato Played fantastically, If Gary got kicked out for being a junkie, so be it, that crap doesn't fly with me in my bands either!

Are you guys nuts?!...REO was nothing until Cronin joined and started writing and recording. "Hi Infidelity" is one of the top selling albums of all time and all of the Cronin-wrote songs made it successful. "Keep On Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling" were two #1 songs and still two of the top power ballads of all time. You can't argue with their success with Cronin in the driver's seat.

Gary took Kevin into the band not once, but twice. And for that, Gary was stabbed in the back by the guy who owes his career to Mr. Richrath. Kevin is not great, he is truly a LOSER. I've followed the band since the beginning and they were great before Kevin, but nothing much without Gary. Enough said.
