  • TV announcer: Coming up next... (insert next cartoon title here).

    Good memories...

  • This is my ringtone now <3

  • Shredder krang bebop rocksteady and Stockman disliked this video.

  • This show was known for it's errors/mistakes, and there are literally 100's of them, but if you watch the credits for the different seasons, you'll notice some more! For example, Rob Paulsen's last name was incorrectly spelled "Paulson" for the Season 5-7 episodes, Renae Jacobs' last name was incorrectly spelled "Jacbos" for Seasons 8 and 9, and Tress Macneille's last name was incorrectly spelled "Macneile" in Seasons 2, 3, and 4 (with an extra space shown in this Season 2 close). Errors abound!

  • I think that they should put Chris Sabat (The person who voiced Vegeta on DBZ) as the voice of Shredder

  • Voice actors include Peter Cullen, Jim Cummings, Cam Clarke, and Tress Macneile....why do these names all sound so familiar?

  • @velleekwitay you forgot about James Avery, he voiced shredder, he was uncle phil from fresh prince...the man is a legend

  • getting flashback to childhood...

  • (Here's another made-up promo, and I don't Own Any Names).

  • MAGIC JUST MAGIC!

  • Did you know that the people who produced this famous TV series produced three animated stories about Puff the Magic Dragon?

  • I think the real question that needs to be asked is which episode is this credits from?

  • @karatebuff This is Season 2's credits. I just uploaded my first video, showing EVERY closing credits sequenced used, except for Season 9.

  • What were they doing to April in that cave...

  • Want to own a "piece" of the show? Ebay currently has scripts of four of the episodes from this show and I purchased three of them (for $60 total). These were the very same items that the voice actors used to record the shows!

  • @MidiArchives It was actually April's idea to assist the turtles to find the technodrome in the second episode, "Enter The Shredder". At the very frame/cel that is used for these credits, April is shouting "What a story!" However, Leonardo sends April and the other turtles back to tell Master Splinter as the cave you see here was drilled by the Technodrome's structure.

  • I am stunned that after growing up with this series and going crazy over it, another series would top this according to a well-reviewed series of videos "Old TMNT vs. New TMNT". But still, everybody listed here made TMNT the phenomenon and franchise here to stay, and if it weren't for them, we wouldn't all of our followers, from the casts of the movies, 4Kids series, video game developers, and Archie comics. Just let "both sides" exist in peace.

  • I never understood why they had to choose THAT particular shot of April and the Turtles in a cave/underground. Someone enlighten me on this.

  • A Fact: Walt Kubiak's name actually appears in an actual episode! It is in "Curse of The Evil Eye", where a man has a book entitled, "How to Fix Up Your Messed Up Life" by Walt Kubiak!

  • The scene used for these credits comes from Enter: The Shredder (2nd episode), right after April says "What a story!"

  • I do like the 2003 version, but NOTHING beats this.

  • ETERNAL TURTLES. LOVE THEM

  • I'm 24 and I loved this show as a kid long live 80's and 90's cartoons.

  • GOD I MISS MY CHILDHOOD

  • i remember when turtles was at it heights of popularity, it really was quite remarkable i mean from the cards, the toys obviously the cartoon and the 3 films, it truly was an era. the only cartoon that came close to that kind of popularity was pokemon in the late 90s

  • That image it's when the technodrom came out of the ground right? was my favorite cartoon!!! oooh memories!!!

  • 0:16 Original Music by D.C. Brown and Chuck Lorre.

Wait. Isn't Charlie the songwriter on "Two and a Half Men"?

  • @GreatMewtwo Yes, you are most certainly right. Chuck Lorre is responsible for half our childhood.

  • This song used to be played at the action sequences.

  • Loved this show as a kid .

  • *travels back to 1992*

Oh, it ended already? =( Well, time to make my homework

  • Oh this cartoon! This ending picture! This music - it's something special! no kidding!) This cartoon have so many good music, like on technodrom! But this end music, realy special - have special feelings!

  • Cartoon network should really think about airing these old cartoons again.. I would so love to see TMNT,Captain Planet,Spiderman etc etc on Cartoon network instead of all of these new wack cartoons that they have..

  • @Jeffrizel1986 You know when cartoon network first came out, the old cartoon shows is what they were known for. That's all they'd ever play! I barely ever see any old shows anymore on there unless it's 3am or something.

  • Who gives a shit fuck about the comics? Seriously!

It's Mutated turtles, who loves pizza and practises, "ninja" arts! With a RAT!

It was never ment to be taken seriously TO BEGIN WITH! BAH!

  • 0:13-0:14

    Freaking Zimmerman!

  • This is so catchy. c: I love this show so much!

  • this was a great cartoon! i loved it. But sorry guys, not as good as Ducktales!! although I will say they are both very different so maybe u cant compare

  • Nothing beats ORIGINAL Mirage Studios comic books. R.I.P. Mirage studios... we will never forget you...

  • Nothing beats ORIGINAL Mirage Studios comic books. R.I.P. Mirage studios... we will never forget you...

  • Tress McNellie's name is misspelled.

  • ouch got stung by the 90s :p

  • It never gets old

  • whoever is saying that this version is ridiculous has gotta be smoking some good shit. I mean seriously, pass that good shit to me. my point, this cartoon version is the best. period eventhough its not 100% based on the comics.

  • awesome ringtone btw. i has it.

  • TMNT best forever!

  • LOL yeah man he voiced the Shredder from Bel Air

  • I loved this Anime/Cartoon as a kid! And now, as an Young Adult, this Series Still Kick's Ass! Like LJK193 said: "Nothing Beats the Original." I still like this series to this very day!

  • the best cartoon ever made

  • By the way, Fred Wolf also produced Duck Tales, which was my other favorite tv show in my childhood!

  • @andi4life Same artist? I see some striking similarities in Duck Tales AND TMNT

  • This Saturday, They are having a crossover with this series, the 03' and comic book turtles, the movie is called Turtles Forever, It is also being released onto Dvd

  • Comment removed

  • 2003 version is shit compared to this. This is the best TMNT cartoon ever!

  • agree! 80s rule!

  • I am a big, big fan of the original, and I was really prejudiced towards the new version, but I have been told by others like me that the new version is well worth watching.

For me, I love the characters of Bebop and Rocksteady, and Krang.

The show had its own charm.

  • @uraniumdeath nothing ever beats the original material, but like Neville said, the 2003 is closer to the comics though not as dark and gritty, great show and makes justice to the turtles, but it doesnt beat the 1987 version in my opinion, even though that version was more kiddy friendly but it was the best.

  • @uraniumdeath This cartoon version rocks! I just do not see the appeal of the new look turtles! most things were better in the eighties and this is one of those things, Teenage mutant hero Turtles 4 eva! as far as I'm concerned April o' neil will always be a reporter in a big yellow puffer jacket!

  • @ Neville6000

Arguing about what Ninja Turtles show/comic/toy is better is like debating about what ice cream is the best.

    It's sort've pointless and juvenile.

  • Slow down, Neville6000. No need to make such propaganda.

  • @filipeflower: I will do so when people STOP romanticizing that past they way they do, and also when they stop putting down current-day animation as being soulless This is just generational chauvinism, and it's getting tiresome. Also, please realize that not everybody considers '80's cartoons to be great: most consider them to be half-hour toy commercials (GI JOE and Transformers especially.) Please keep that in mind.

  • But you can't expect those people to change, just because you want them to. Nobody appointed you judge or force of authority.

  • @filipeflower: Nobody appointed you and the other posters here kings/queens of all animation, but you act just like that, and it rankles me. As I said, the shows that you love aren't liked by everyone, and for you to be deluded enough to say that 'today's cartoons suck' speaks of the same thing that you're accusing me of. Also, the last time I checked, I have a right to express my opinion.

  • You took 1 Month just to write that ?

  • Wow, generational chauvinism lol? I didn't know people took pride in their modern cartoons. And come on dude...current day cartoons suck, I'm sorry. You've got to admit it. There are no next to no exceptions.

  • @EJZandHB: Actually, MANY of us do like and even LOVE most modern cartoons-come and check out Deviant Art sometime and see all of the fan art for most of the shows. You are just stuck in the past-I remember the past, but I also live in the here and now as well.

  • No, I think you're stuck in the past if you're willing to take an argument about a children's cartoon that far.

  • @Neville6000 back up just a minute there, I guess you forgotten if not for the 80s show it wouldn't have exploded into popularity it would be just another comic on a shelf to glance at, and I find it distasteful to berate fans of the 80s show, I find that the 2003 show was boring even with the action there was essentially nothing about the characters or plot that was attention grabbing it is just trying to capitalize on an old phenomenon like pokemon being ran to death

  • @Jaegar19Ultima: What was attention grabbing about the '80's cartoon? The characters were more soulless than the current versions; the stories aren't as half as involving or complex as the current show (when the Turtles get their backs to the wall by the Foot Clan, then you know that it's real storytelling) and the extra characters created for the show (Irma, Krang, Bebop & Rocksteady) are/were superfluous and unnecessary. Also, why are you responding to me now?

  • @Neville6000 as if it matters when, I came across your comment when I saw this video that was a blast from the past, you seem to forget many people in the comments grew up watching this and you want to be hard pressed to ignore what shot the popularity of the turtles skyward in favor of the comics which one would have to live in a city and be lucky enough to obtain to even know

  • @Neville6000 and to come back to your response, the turtles had personality granted it wasn't dark and deep, but you don't need that to have enjoyment even as a kid watching the 80s show it had some slapstick humor which I don't remember from the 2003 series, and who says everything has to be involving or complex most who tried that with shows failed, irma bebop, rocksteady and krang where their to give the writers more diversity and ways to provide filler

  • @Neville6000 You were born after 89 weren't you?

  • @strikerk: I was born on February 16, 1968, and am 42 years old, to answer your question. I've been watching cartoons for more than 40 years, and I try to like cartoons of ALL of the time periods I've been alive, not just the 80's. Trust me when I say that this cartoon is not as half as good as the 2003 show on Fox Kids, and also that there are great shows on the air NOW that you should be watching as well as this one.

  • @Neville6000

Doubtful, outside of The Last Airbender I don't see much on TV worth the time. At least not on American television. The good stuff gets killed way too fast (Like Invader Zim did)

  • @strikerk: Invader Zim ended for it's own reasons, not because Nick ended it, most likely. Try checking out the Ben 10 shows, Spectacular Spider-Man, Wolverine & The X-Men, Batman: The Brave & The Bold, Grossology, Iron Man: Animated Adventures, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Justice League shows, Robot Chicken, The Boondocks-there's a lot that's out there besides a dumbed-down mediocre adaptation of a kick-ass independent comic book.

  • @Neville6000 I'll agree with you that there are some quality cartoons these days. A lot of people get sucked into nostalgia and only remember things as "awesome" because (like me and this original TMNT cartoon) were 5 years old at the time. This cartoon will always have a place in my heart, but the newer version is MUCH closer to the original source material, I know that.

  • @mackincheese: Thanks.

  • @Neville6000 Welcome.

  • @mackincheese much like people are sucked into thinking as something is newer its better, and something older cant be as good and people only like it due to nostalga.

In a few years with the next TMNT franchise people will say the 03 version sucks.

  • @ryougadeka Not necessarily, and I never said newer is always better.

  • first season was good but after that it was just so terrible that right now my eye balls bleed when i see it

  • Nothing beats the original

  • @Oxnek Yeah, I really hate all that plot and character development they put into the 2003 version. Shallow camp is definitely the way to go!

  • @Corrector1 What are you talking about?? It makes the series more interesting. The old cartoon didnt really do all of that!

  • Learn to detect sarcasm.

  • @Oxnek Agree, but i still respect the TMNT new version for introducing turtles to a new generation and for making that awesome tv movie TURTLES FOREVER where the new turtles team up with the old turtles from the 80s that we remember to fight the original shredder, freaking awesome!

  • my figure drawing teacher is in the credits

  • Does anybody have the full version of this in like, MP3 or something?

  • FYI,

the animation was done in japan

    ^_^

  • although i was very young when this came on tv, i always thought about seeing aprils tits as her top was open so low, it seemed like a possibility.lol

    90s sexy for you

  • lmao

  • even the end of this show is better than most shows today hahaa!!! How times have changed and tv is horiibble now!

  • My most favorite cartoon of all time!

  • This tune makes an awesome ringtone for you cell. Try it out. :-)

  • Damn right. But there's one problem: You don't wanna answer the phone then.

  • It's weird looking back at the credits and seeing James Avery's name. Because now when I watch it, after having watched Fresh Prince, I can't help think of Uncle Phil as Shredder.

  • When this came out originally in '87- next to Ghostbusters, this was the best animated series.

We lived in a golden Era of animated shows which I don't think will ever be emulated by today's generation.

  • soo many memories came to my mind ahh love it

  • Where can I download this track>!!?!

  • You can use the website mediaconverter org to convert the audio of the video in MP3, it's free and simple.

  • There are numerous websites dedicated to TV show intros and outros.

I have been visiting them for the past decade.

Seek, and you shall find :D

  • Just get Audacity and record it straight from your speakers.

  • clarke, coleman, gordon & paulsen. no better four turtles than these guys.

btw: funny fact; raphael (rob paulsen) is the voice of the "mr. opportunity" guy on those honda commercials. anyone surprised?

  • I've been looking for this for ages!! I thought nobody has uploaded this part of the Animation!! The music sounds catchy and brilliant! Thanks for the upload mate! 5 Stars For You!!

  • i used to watch this when i was 6 or 7. Good old days ;]

  • Gotta love the instrumental version!!!

  • Bring back the originals

  • it was really epic at 0:30 because i thought that symbol lite up at turtle power part.

  • this is gna be the voicemail for my fone...

  • This was seriously a smooth ending theme song.

  • reminds me of when i was 8 years old in1990 watching VHS tape of shredder gets splintered and also playing TMNT II arcade game on NES

  • I could rarely and hardely get my eyes off my television during my childhood, now I'm bored, I watch approximately 2 hours per day. Change is HATEFUL in TV and not getting any cooler.

  • This was my favorite outro for TMNT.

  • I sure wish there were more cartoons like this on tv these days. I feel sorry for kids today, everything you see now is garbage.

  • Teenage, Mutant, Ninja, Turtles

compare that to dragonball, naruto or whatever.

i'm nostalgic as fuck about tmnt also, but my main problem is that i cannot apprechiate new shows like i could TMNT back then.

If i could just do away with the nostalgia, i'd probably be just as disillusioned and awe-less with TMNT as i'm in life. You should be rid of yours and re-evaluate it if you just start re-watching it.

i guess it comes with age, and is one of the resons why i'm working on my buddhism.

  • @VideoEnthusiast1 Have you checked TV lately?

  • my ringtone. and yes old cartoon are 1000x better than the new BS they feed the kids

  • can u send me the ringtone plzz :???

  • While I prefer the new show, they just couldn't top the original theme song. I don't know how they did it, but the theme song for the 80's version is definitely the best theme song in any cartoon, ever.

I'm still waiting for someone to apply a new version of this theme to a future incarnation of TMNT. That's what they keep doing with Transformers, after all.

  • i still love this theme greatist pizza eat'in theme

  • this was my 2nd all time favorite cartoon ever

when i was a kid!!god i'll never forget this one 'till i die!

  • Which was the first ?

  • thundercats!the turtles were very close!

    yours?

  • Tough choice but thundercats and tmnt were certainly two of my favorites ! I also liked He-man and she-ra,inspector gadget and some japanese stuff like dragonball. Not to forget anything that has to with super heroes like spiderman and batman !

  • yeah!i loved too the cartoons you mentioned except dragon ball that i didn't watch it,but my bro did!i like spiderman batman superman too, also i liked dennis the menace, dinosaucers, denver the last dinosaur, mask,g. joe and more!

  • All of these were great ! That was the best cartoon era ever !

  • yeah mate! totally agree!

  • OMG yes the 80's cartoons were simply marvleous. They cant be topped.

A NEW version of the original theme would be SWEET, same beat i wouldnt want it changed too much just update the sound.

  • I loved these closing credits! Classic TMNT rules!!!

I wish they'd bring the classic TMNT back in something they've never done before: Classic TMNT: The Animated Movie"

The should call it "Revenge of the Dimension Xer's" or something like this.

Then, all the voice actors in the original series could have a reunion. and the best part, we could have James Avery return as the voice of Shredder and Pat Fraley as Krang.

  • I´d totally love that if that actually happened

  • Part of the reason why we love these cartoons is the fact that they were hand-drawn, and the nostalgia of it is so appealing.

You make a new film, it will never be worth half as much, because you're just cheapening a memory.

Fawlty Towers is a classic British comedy, but only 12 episodes were made, meaning the story was never diluted.

I think TMNT should be put in the vault, and never touched again in terms of re-makes or re-creations.

    Classics deserve a dignified burial.

  • badboy

  • agreed

  • true

  • hey do you think if ther re-draw the the series just like there doing with DBZ would it be great as it was?

  • Man this outro is so fucking awesome. Long Live 90's turtles

  • I always watched the outro up to the end cos the music was so awesome! It got me hyped up every time there was a fight in the episodes too!

  • i absolutely loved these credits, just the image of the turtles and april in that big cave, i dunno why it's so beautiful looking to me..

  • *Bangs head*

  • this end credits theme gets me so pumped

  • TURTLE POWER!

  • so nostalgic... :( miss this show

  • This version is FAR BETTER than the new ones. Pure 80's classic.

  • One of my favorite cartoons next to the ORIGINAL He-Man and Biker Mice. Why did they remade all those great 80s cartoons?

  • Good question...I have no idea why.

  • I don't imagine that they realized that KIDS would be watching this logo?

  • Haha, used to rock to this theme in my room whenever I saw this terrific cartoon.

  • It came on the WB here back in the 80's it was awesome!

  • Absolutely the greatest ending music ever!

  • Another one of my favourite shows from the 80's, up there with Real Ghostbusters & Transformers

  • This is the best TMNT credits of all time! :)

  • I love this!

  • it came on NBC in my area

  • Been looking for this a long time too. Just awesome :>

  • the group w

  • THX Really , I've Looking For This Music For a Very Long Time :D WoW

  • This closing was from the second season (1988). You can easily tell the difference between the first three seasons by the font in the credits.

  • Yep, NissimAtlas has the first season credits, as well as the second version of the closing (different BG than seen here).

  • goood memories

  • hmm how much i love these kinda tunes... and the turtles of course

  • Good memories. Does this outro appear on the DVD of the original series? I'm thinking of buying it and would love to see it on the DVD.

  • it does, however in the first dvd, the outro's done with a different font.

  • thank you so much

  • This is one of the best end credits music i have ever heard in my life since i was seven when I watched this

  • Anyone notice James Avery under voice talent? Also known as Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Belair. He voiced Shredder

  • Yeah, it's weird. I've watched him on Fresh Prince and listened very hard, but I just can't hear Shredder in there. With some actors/characters it's more obvious. Guess he's just really good at disguising his voice.

  • however in an episode of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (The PBS game show), when James Avery appeared to give out some clues, it showed him giving the clues with Shredder's voice.

  • I watched Carmen Sandiego every day as a kid, but I'd have to see that scene again.

I have this little vision of Uncle Phil chewing Will out over something or other, and then suddenly at the end of his lecture he gets this wild look in his eyes and yells in Shredder's voice: "AND DESTROY THOSE TURTLES!!"

Will: [baffled] "Uh...what did you just say, Uncle Phil?"

Phil: [blinks and rubs his head] "Uh...nothing Will. Never mind."
