If too many downloaded Omnisphere Spectrasonics would make less and less profit and have to sack some of their staff and release less free patches and then eventually close the company. So you would end up having to buy lots of £2000 synthesizers that you cant clone like you can do with a soft synth.
I'm unemployed but I managed to save for Omnisphere and Trilian along with U-he Zebra and ACE within 18 months. I can't afford a Ferrari so won't be buying one.
ahaha qaulity!! I remember using Omnisphere for the first time a year or so ago and found this patch, it made me laugh but also made me appreciate all the incredible hard work that has gone in to making this synth. How many Piano's did they burn/ destroy before finishing recording this patch LOL
Hey, have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation? Its perfect for running all your favorite Windows compatible software and plug-ins! Click the link below for videos!
@ KocaMetallec: There's more than one way to reinvent the wheel. And if you've got a computer that can even sniff Omnisphere you have many free options that won't limit you if you're studious enough, or if you really care.
I don't know if you're even serious, but I'd damn sure give Omnisphere to everyone in the world if I could afford it - so would Spectrasonics.
I worked and saved money for my first Mini Moog (Hardware) almost 4 Years. And i like Ferraris a lot, but can`t arford one. So what do you suggest, is it ok to steel a Ferrari ? I could pay it later...maybe. :-)
@Neocron That's just stupid what you said...stealing an actual object isn't the same as stealing software....when you steal the car the other person does not have it anymore, but when you steal a COPY of the software nobody loses anything...and in that case (if you are loyal) there should be no problem paying later!!
@GeorgiMl the Ferrari was build and Software was programmed from People, you know ? People want to live and eat. If Programmers don`t get paid anymore, because of some stupid thiefs, the Companys just will stop making good Software. Its simple as that.
I baught Omnisphere a week ago so that I would stop killing hampsters im happy now no more killing. It sounds so much better than in the compressed audio format of Youtube. Going to save for Trillian now the bass addon for Omnisphere.
You dont have to have this synthesizer right now save money then one day you can buy it or its sequil. It's gonna take be months to save for it but I'll get it.
I should work for 4 months, and all money that I get from my job for that 4 months would be just enough to buy Spectrasonic Omnisphere...
How people like me can buy this plug in...
When/If I started to get money from the music, I'll buy it for sure.... I respect this great work; But now, the only thing I left is to download it (torrent or something..)..
@KocaMetallec keep pushin man! Its took me years to actually make money at this thing we call music. Remember, you gotta give money to make money. I just bought this yesterday. Waiting for it to be shipped! Can't wait!
Agree with Slyman and Masterd000 - This isn't that expensive for a pro musician. I spent $3500 for a Kurzweil K2600 a few years back, the Omnisphere sounds just as good, better in many ways.
For those who won't ever be a pro, or buy this, but want to contribute for personal ethics, go to Spectrasonics website and buy a T-Shirt or cap from them, and wear it to promote their great company.
Wtf? Less than 500€ is too expensive? Most of the good workstations cost 3000€ and you only get some crappy sounds comparing to Omnisphere.
And slyman. If everyone would always pirate Omnisphere, what would the company gain? Spectrasonics would be in real trouble if there weren't decent citizens to actually BUY Omnisphere and other Spectrasonics products. Don't be an idiot...
dude u have an answer for everything. the prices are so high because these ppl want to get paid a lot because they paid a lot to go to school for this shit. its just like football , is it really necessary for tickets, all the jerseys, hats and all the other shit to b so expensive. no but the nfl is pretty much a monopoly and they all want to get paid millions of dollars. if they didnt get paid so much prices wouldnt b so high.
and its like that for everything thats expensive like movies college video games its about greed period. i do not support our flawed capitalistic society that only makes the rich richer and the poor poorer
That thing we are taling about is a full professional synth. For that price i couldnt even think of getting a professional top-notch guitar.
I mean....lets just add the price of a good soundcard and the Midi-Keyboard. Thats still no comparison to a good guitar.
Of course the inventors want to see some money fpr their work - and it COULD be a lot cheaper. But if you compare the price to the quality you get there is really nothing to moan about.
the way i see it is that if ur not going to b making any money off it then pirate away. theyre not losing any money from u pirating it especially if u dont have the money to buy it because u wouldnt have bought it anyways
Sorry guys, I completely agree with you, Kahva... But although it sounds stupid, Slyman does have a point...
If you ain't going to make money on the product, you ain't "stealing" it for own gain... And if you don't have the money to buy the product, you surely wouldn't have bought it after all, and the money income wouldn't increase an inch.
Now, I don't necessarily "steal" products, but it happens I am to lazy to buy it straight away, and try the pirated, then buy the real deal later. ^^"
I am. I always pay for the software, as well as the music that I buy. But it is not often that I pay straight away. It happens that I rather want to take a listen to some tracks, or try the software, before I actually buy the entire thing.
You know, yourself, I bet hundreds of thousands of millions of people listen to songs on YouTube without paying anything, before they buy the album. It's common, and there's not much you can do about it.
So by your logic people with no skill or talent should spend hundreds of dollars on software they'll never utilize properly to subsidize everyone else. Sounds like communism. And communist pirate software. Looks like your logic has fallen apart mate.
i think thrice use it too in the intro of" the flame deluge"with a strings in lo fi ...wonderfull synth but i think that absyth z3ta+ and kontakt we kan have the same results besides this beast have to devore the ram... with good samples and nice impulses in kontakt kan do the same for me this is another sampler mixed with synth marvelous but nothig to die for ...is all about the chef not the kitchen!!!!!
this sound is used in the intro and outro of "A Nightmare to Remember" by Dream Theater, from their new album Black Clouds and Silver Linings... just in case anyone cares... Jordan did most of his tracking with Omnisphere for the new album.
Ummm...this is kind of a shit example, since the pattern that's played goes absolutely nowhere! How about a better example - something that goes up and down the scale so we can hear what the thing is supposed to sound like?
trippy.. hadn't read up on Omnisphere until just now... when I saw the title, I had expected something along the lines of a fire sample doubled with piano, but I guess it's a sampling of a piano actually on fire... if you google "sonicstate" and "omnisphere", you'll find a NAMM video which shows footage of some of the sampling sessions and among them you can see the poor piano lit up...
is it the pitch bend generated the burning strings that makes this sounds different to a not-on-fire piano? what does it sound like if you hold them note and let it evolve?
so much advertising of the burning piano made me think it was going to be way cooler than this! Sounds like a thinned piano with some withe noise on it, and of course, a massive amount of reverb so everything sounds awesome!!! (I think this time they called it the steam machine hahahaha)

There are a crapload of burning piano presets in Omnisphere. They must have REALLY like setting pianos on fire.

Well, 'most of his tracking' is a bit of an overstatement I think. He used a big variety of hardware and software synthesizers while recording.
